Irving and I used to do Date Night all the time. We’d take turns planning secret dates and surprising each other. We haven’t done them in a few months though. Between the wedding, the traveling, and the whole “Saving money” for a rainy day thing… we just kind of forgot. Episodes of “Entourage” became the fun thing to do (and that’s still fun, don’t get me wrong. I love my Jeremy Piven!) So when Irving declared that he had a surprise date night coming, I was pretty excited about it. He hyped it up all week, and he was right, it was pretty cool.
We drove over the “hill” and spent the evening in Beverly Hills. We went to the Paley Center and watched this:

SO FUNN!!!! I thought it was so thoughtful because Irving knew that I used to be obsessed with love the show. He had never seen an episode, so it was pretty cool to share that with him!
They showed the pilot episode, which was a total blast from the past. I completely forgot about how silly the show was. It’s funny when you’re 14 how different the world felt. It was cool to see Joey (Katie Holmes) looking so young and innocent. It was 11 years ago! Dawson’s Creek was such an important part to my high school days. (Right, Katie?!)
After the episode, they brought out some of the cast and crew for a panel discussion:

Meredith Monroe, who played Andie:
Busy Phillips who played Audrey:

James Van Der Beek, who played Mr. Dawson himself:

Also there was the creater Kevin Williamson:

It’s so crazy how many details about the show I had completely forgotten about! It was pretty funny to hear some of the stories about production and the show.

I just realized that I hadn’t taken any pictures of the Hubby and I together…. but at least I got a picture with this:

haha What a great date night. Thanks, babe!
