For all those non-running folks, a PR means “Personal Record”! I ran with some speedy LA Racers today, and it totally paid off! We ran the 5 mile loop around Balboa lake, and the weather was perfect! It was totally foggy, misty and breezy… perfect for an early morning workout.
Turns out there was a 10k/5k race going on at the same time, and we were running against the grain. But it was fun to see so many people exercising and enjoying the morning in the park.
We finished the 5 miles in 56:11. I couldn’t believe it! That was 3 minutes faster than I’ve ever run that distance!!! I was on cloud nine when I finished. I had to take a picture of my watch to prove it:

Here are my splits:
- Mile 1: 10:55
- Mile 2: 11:12
- Mile 3: 11:29
- Mile 4: 11:35
- Mile 5: 10:58
And just to toot my own horn…. My sprint at the end was a 7:09 pace. SERIOUSLY!!!!
Nothing like burning 500 calories at 8am in the morning. YES!
