Oh my gosh, I LOOOOVED my dress!
But first… here’s a few dresses I tried on that did not make the cut:
PS. Dress shopping with your BFF who is getting married 2 weeks before you is incredibly fun!
(and above right is Sarah who got married a few months before me!)
Ok, so you see how all the above pictures, NONE of those dresses really suits me, right?
Well, sometimes you just know!
I ended up finding my dress in Las Vegas with Ashley and my grandmother. It totally wasn’t a dress I would have picked to try on, but it was perfect. It was a Maggie Sottero Vienna. And it was love.
I loved the lace and the satin together.
Originally, it had a really heavy train of Satin and Lace:
But I had my seamstress (whom I highly recommend, by the way) chop off the satin!! It was scary, but I was so glad I did. It made it so much lighter.
My veil was my mom’s from 1982. Hers was attached to a hat.
I had a family friend disassemble it, doubled it over and attached it to a comb. Viola!
For my shoes, I knew I didn’t want heels, so I bought the lowest heels I could find that still looked decent. They’re actually just white dyables. Then I found a pair of great earrings at Forever 21 for $3, so I cut off the posts and hot glued them on. I LOVED them!
Ok, enough about me… what did Irving wear?
A sleek Brooks Brother’s suit! And he was quite handsome in it, if I don’t say so myself!
He also wore cufflinks from Mont Blanc:
The bridesmaids wore Bill Levkoff dresses in Chocolate:
EJ (AKA Groomsmaid!) wore the same dress in black. This was great because she matched the my maids and Irving’s groomsmen!
You all looked amazing!!!!
