Adele’s Christmas Eve December 29, 2012

Filed under: Christmas — Kelocity @ 4:54 am

On December 23rd, Irving, Adele and I took a red-eye flight to Boston to celebrate Christmas. Getting to the airport was hilarious because we also drove our friends and their baby there as well. In our trusty minivan, we fit 4 adults, 2 screaming babies in carseats, 2 large suitcases, 3 medium carry-on suitcases, 2 diaper bags, 1 stroller and 4 carryons. Not sure how we managed that, but it was so fun and a great way to kick off our vacation!

Our flight was overnight so we were banking on Adele sleeping the whole way like she did back in August. But this time around, she has a lot more energy and is very easily distracted so falling asleep wasn’t so easy. I tried nursing her, bottle feeding her and cuddling her, but she only fell asleep when I strapped her to my chest in the carrier and bounced up and down in the galley. Once she was out, I carefully slid back into my seat, and she slept that way for the next 4 hours of the flight. I think our seat-mates were grateful!

We arrived into Boston just in time for a shower and a nap before all the Christmas Eve festivities began! We had a packed night ahead of us!

Our Christmas Eve is not complete with out some Lebanese food: Homemade Tabouli, Hummus and Kibbeh. Delicious. (Minus the Kibbeh, I do not eat that. ha)

We always eat well on Christmas Eve, that’s for sure.

When we arrived, Adele was fast asleep in her carseat, despite the hoards of people waiting to kiss her. She didn’t quite know what to do in her jacket, mittens and hat. She’s not used to this cold weather!

Everyone waited so patiently for our sleeping beauty to wake up. haha

Last year, she was in my belly. This year, she’s almost 7 months old on Christmas! I still can’t believe we are a family of three now. We had so much fun with her on Christmas!

IMG_8550Cute baby tights from Grammie. Adorable!

It was so great to see my family and catch up with my cousins. The downside of living on the opposite coast is missing out on the day-to-day with everyone. I love my family!

…It was time for Presents!! Adele got totally spoiled this year. Lots of books, clothes and toys! She was so cute opening her gifts. She sat like a big girl and got excited about everything she got.

I think Adele’s first Christmas Eve was a definitely success. She (and her dimples) had an absolute blast. Thank you to everyone!! We are so lucky. Merry Christmas!!
