Dream Dinners! May 28, 2010

On a whim, Irving and I booked a session at Dream Dinners tonight. We used to go all the time before we got married, but then we sort of forgot about it!

Dream Dinners is half restaurant/half store… you go in and make meals that you then freeze at home. It’s so much fun!

((These are camera phone photos, so not the best quality!))

First, you put on fun aprons!

0528001904

They give you a list of all the meals you bought, and you go station to station!
0528001906

They have instructions at each station to tell you what to make:

It’s easy and fun!
0528001909

0528001911

And each meal gets packaged all together so they’re simple to prepare when you’re ready to eat them!
0528001927

0528001927a

Each person gets their own fridge to store them in while you cook!

0528001927b

0528001957

And they have chocolate to eat while you cook!!!

You can even bring in bottles of wine to sip while you work! Next time!

We had a nice full fridge of 36 servings of food when we were done!!!
0528002021

I really hate cooking at home, so this is the perfect alternative. We had a great time!

If anyone signs up to go to Dream Dinners, let me know! We get referral discounts!

We had such a great time with Erika and Timmy this weekend!

We took them to Philippe’s in Downtown LA. If you haven’t been yet, you really should. It’s one of those old Hollywood joints, where coffee is still 9 cents a cup! They are best known for inventing the original French Dip sandwich!

In typical Kelley fashion, I didn’t order the French Dip…. I got the cheese sandwich!

IMG_3772

It was thick cheddar cheese on a crusty roll. Yes please!

Erika and I both got Pickles… of course.

After we ate, we headed down to the Home Depot Center to catch a LA Galaxy game!
JR and Ashley met us down there too!! It was a great game.

The boys (JR, Irving, Timmy):

I missed a picture with Ashley!!! Aweee.

It was Military Appreciation night!

I spent most of the game trying to get a good picture of Landon Donovan. haha

Because of our amazing seats, we were just a few rows down from where David Beckham was sitting! He had a private box. Yes, we saw him. Yes, there are pictures to prove it. But my camera died, and I’m going to have to bribe Erika to give them to me. 🙂

It was a great weekend. One of those weekends that feels like 5 days long. It was great. Erika and Timmy are moving out to LA soon and we are SO excited they will be our neighbors!!

Lots to catch up on! May 15, 2010

Earlier this week, Irving came home with a surprise for me!

Doesn’t that look AMAZING? Whoever thought of that is seriously genius.
S’Mores Brownie Mix. I mean, are you serious?!

And I love the card.
That is love for SURE!

This week, we were so excited to have our friends Erika and Timmy in town!
They will be moving out here soon and are here trying to find the perfect apartment!

We baked them some chocolate chip cookies!
IMG_3754

Somebody’s hand was caught stealing one, fresh out of the oven!
 IMG_3756

Hee hee. But yea, I ate a whole bunch too. Oh well.

I am in love with bright flowers. How cute are these!
IMG_3761
I had green button mums in my wedding bouquet. I just love them!

IMG_3763

Friday night, our friends Ashley and JR came over too and we had a BBQ and an exciting game of bananagrams!

The girls!

And the guys!

Today, we spent the day apartment hunting with Erika and Timmy.

And we stopped for lunch at Henry’s Tacos! It’s this little hole-in-the-wall taco stand that everyone raves about.

The menu was simple, but awesome.

I was expecting cheap, greasy Mexican food, but it was surprisingly good! It was fresh, light and filling. We will definitely be going back to that place!

And today is my parent’s 28th wedding anniversary!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MOM AND DAD!!

House of Pies May 1, 2010

Last night, at 10pm, we decided to go out with our friends Ashley and JR. We wanted Ice Cream, but something a little different. We headed over to “House of Pies” in Hollywood. It was fun to get our of neighborhood a little bit and have some good food and company.

Irving and I:

It is called the house of pies, but I opted for a brownie sundae. It was probably the best brownie sundae I’ve ever had. The brownie was warm, and the hot fudge was so HOT that it melted the ice cream. Amazing.

Can you SEE the fudginess??

Irving got a Bavarian Chocolate Banana Cream Pie…. it was so cool! It had layers of actual banana in it!

It was a fun night!

I spy with my little eye… April 28, 2010

My husband isn’t here right now to defend himself, but I just can’t stop laughing.

I came home from work and noticed that he had gone grocery shopping. He’s a pretty good shopper. A quick peek into the fridge and I noticed he bought some salads, bread, milk, etc.

Then I noticed this:

I thought it was really cute that he bought some healthy snacks for us. Some individual peanut butter with celery sticks.

I snapped that picture because I was going to write this post about how cute it was that he was thinking about healthy things, blah, blah, blah.

Until I opened up my pantry and saw this!

I spy, with my little eye:

Yes. My husband bought celery sticks, milk and salad… and a giant jar of Nutella. HAHAHA

PS. He bought bananas too, so it looks like I’m having a banana with nutella for breakfast tomorrow. MMmm.

P.P.S: Irving, if you’re reading this, you better not eat the whole jar in one sitting like you did when I bought some for my Italian class presentation last year.

I’m still laughing!
