Last week, Irving and I went to see the Black Eyed Peas at the Staples Center. Our seats couldn’t have been further from the stage, but they still put on an amazing show!
Will.I.Am was just incredible!
It was a fun night out….but we were sure glad we brought our binoculars with us!!! HAHAHA Does that make us old?

A Metro Art Walk
Yesterday, I had to go downtown, so I decided to take the metro. YES, Los Angeles has a metro! And a pretty good one too! Being on the subway totally reminds me of Boston. I love to people watch, there’s always lots going on.
I didn’t bring my real camera, so my cell phone had to do. If you know where to look, there is art all around us!
First stop: Union Station.
The tracks remind me of Europe!
I love how old Union Station is. It’s like it’s been frozen in time.
Then I walked around Olvera Street. It’s a very authentic mexican area with cute street vendors and Mariachi music….and of course, Churros!
PS, Irving thinks it’s funny that it looks like I have crown on. HAHA
Next stop: Hollywood & Vine
I love the ceiling in there. The entire ceiling is covered in old film reels!

And even though I live here, you can’t go to Hollywood without taking a stroll down the walk of fame!
And guess who’s moving into Hollywood!!!
WHOOO HOOO!!
I ended the day at Border’s Books, where I finally got my hands on the May issue of “Runner’s World”! It’s all about Boston this month! I’m so excited!!!
The Perfect Date April 10, 2010
Irving and I went on the Perfect Date last night. Sadly there was not one picture taken…. but it was too good not to blog about!
We took the Metro downtown after work. I like taking the subway. It reminds me of Boston. I love to people watch and see the scramble of everyday life. Once you get downtown, it really feels like a world away. So different from life in the valley.
We ate at Mendocino Farms and it was really good. It was so fresh and different. My sandwich tasted different than anything I’ve ever had, and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. But it was delicious.
Then we walked through the LA Public Library. If you live in LA, you must go. It is such a museum of art and history. We were sad to hear that because of the budget cuts they are cutting back their hours starting next week. Such a shame. There are many beautiful things to look at, but my favorite is the Children’s room. I love the musty wood ceilings and the old train station style lanterns. And of course hearing the giggles of the kids exploring books is exciting.
There is a huge mural on the wall in one of the atriums, and if you look closely, you can see the same images sewn into the rug of the children’s room. Irving commented that it is a testament to a child’s curiosity and wonder.
After the library, we walked to LA Live. There was a clippers game at the Staples Center, so there were people everywhere, it was fun! We had some ice cream from the New Zealand Ice Cream shop. I think this is their only American location. It was goooood!
After walking around for a bit more, we headed back home. It was the perfect date night. 🙂

The Little Things
Continuing on a theme of “little things in life that make me happy”, I have some more to share! YAY!
#1: Organization!

We have a Tubberware shelf organized by size, shape and use. HAHA Every time I need a lid it makes me laugh at how insanely organized these babies are. (Like I said, it’s the little things in life, right?)
#2: Strawberry Season!
Strawberries haven’t hit their peak yet, but it makes me happy knowing they will soon!!! I think it is so beautiful that nature can make such a colorful, sweet thing. Mmmm!
#3: New Cleaning Products!

I really, really, REALLY hate cleaning, but anything that can make my kitchen go from this:

To This:

…makes me happy. Dude, you can see the reflection in those counters!
I put on some “on-demand music” and rocked out while I cleaned!

Did you catch that? I spy, with my little eye…..
Here’s a closer look!

HAHA I grew up with a dog who loved tennis balls, and we used to think nothing of seeing them lying around on the floor. I don’t have a dog now, but I use tennis balls to massage my legs at night, so I just leave it there. lol
Which leads me to:
#4: My old dog, Nikki!

She used to take those tennis balls EVERYWHERE!!!!

So yea, seeing tennis balls on my living room floor fills my heart.
Til next time…
