I’m trying to keep my motivation from the New Year going by attacking things that have been on my to-do list for years! One of my most daunting tasks is digitizing my CD collection.
My stack of discs is literally taking over my home office. Every time I back up my desk chair, I hit the leaning tower of CDs. They need to go.
I’ve always had bad luck with CDs for a few reasons:
1.) I threw out all of my CDs in high school when I went through a “I don’t like music anymore” phase. (What was I thinking? They were $24 a pop back then!)
2.) I then rebought all my favorites and then some and brought them to Europe with me… and then proceeded to accidently leave them on a plane in the Frankfurt airport. True story, I cried.
3.) When I went to college, I threw out all the cases and just kept the CDs in big cases. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I can’t sell them to Amoeba.
So now, I decided that digitizing my collection is the best option. All my songs will be in one place, and I can finally clean up my little office corner. But what should I do with my CDs once I’m done? Toss em? Sell them on Ebay? Do any of my friends or readers want them? It’s mostly electronica and punk music (and lots of Blink 182).
Any Takers? Any Recommendations? I need them out of sight!
Please share how you make out, I have those same leaning piles!
