I think ‘undecorating’ the Christmas Tree has got to be on the list of the World’s top ten most awful things. I always get a little sad to see the ornaments come off. Next year, I’m getting my tree in November and keeping it up til the end of January. It’s just too fun and pretty to only enjoy it for a few weeks. I
I love to look at the lights and relax. It just feels more like home with the decorations up.
But now the tree is gone and the pine needles have been swept up. I convinced Irving to let me keep the white lights up for a few more weeks. (YAY!)
This is what Irving looked like hauling our dead tree away this morning. HAHA
What do you think? Can decorations stay up through January? I vote yes. If it makes you happy, why not, right?
I still have a pumpkin from Halloween in front of my house…so my vote is Yes.
I totally agree. Next year I am putting it up sooner! Taking it down not only sucked but it felt like I’d JUST finished decorating!!!
I took down anything Santa/Christmas-y and just lugged our tree out to the curb today too (sniff sniff), but I’m leaving up some garland with white lights through winter! If fancy restaurants can have white lights up all year long, why can’t we?! I love them too. Sooo relaxing. 🙂
That’s true! Restaurants do have them up year round. I like a little magic in my house. =)
We kept a tree until March once – and it was a very dried out real tree that we had to sneak out late at night from our building (in Queens). Too bad the trail of needles led back to our door! I really did have a good excuse though. . .
My Christmas tree is still up so I vote YES! Keep it up all of January 🙂
I took down my stuff yesterday… I usually try to get all that stuff down by the first week of January.
