Adele is fortunate enough to have four generations on both sides of her family. Great grandparents are so special. IMG_5663

My grandmother was in the hospital last week, and when she got out, she couldn’t wait to meet Adele.

It must be so strange to see your daughter… and then your grand-daughter have a daughter of her own!

Another GORGEOUS day on the east coast! Man, how did we end up with a week’s worth of amazing weather?? (Though I’m secretly hoping for some thunderstorms while I’m here. I kinda miss those in LA!)
IMG_5533

Our morning started out with some playtime. First an airplane ride! (Adele loves to fly!)
IMG_5537

Then some ‘Wheels on the Bus’ action! I know, it’s getting crazy over here!

And the fun continued with Grandpa!

I think we wore her out, because by the afternoon, all that playing ended like this!

Please note: Adele is sleeping. On the floor. And I am not rocking her, holding her, pushing her or carrying her. HOORAY! My baby, who normally never naps like this, slept for a half an hour! Progress!

The Parade of Family marches on! After a fun morning at the lake, we stopped over at Aunty Donna and Uncle Kenney’s house to visit with their family!
IMG_5509

Cousins Andrew and Michelle got to meet Adele too! I think they were in love.

Can’t believe this one is in college now! I remember when SHE was a little baby!!

Once we arrived back at my mom’s house, Aunty Mikaela came over to show off her baby-wearing skills. She’s a natural!
IMG_5518

So excited to have helpers while I’m home so I don’t have to wear an 11 pound baby around all day. HAHA Good job, Aunty!
IMG_5520

And the parade concluded with a visit from Aunty Carol and cousins Alyssa and Ally! Adele is a lucky lady!

It was a crazy long day, and Adele impressed us all by staying in a good mood and charming everyone who wanted to hold her. We are so lucky to have such an easy going baby!!

A little while later, my friend Courtney came over to meet Adele and then Irving, Courtney and I left her with Grammie and went to a movie!!!

IMG_5531

It was SO nice to get out for a night and enjoy a stress-free night out. We saw “The Campaign”. I thought it was great! I laughed out loud so many times. It was the perfect movie to kick back and have fun.

Man, I have to find some babysitters on the west coast when I go back, we are getting spoiled out here!

The Introduction Parade August 29, 2012

My whole family lives on the East Coast, so we knew when we decided to travel home, there would be a line a mile long of people who already loved Adele and couldn’t wait to meet and hug her. She has no idea how lucky she is to have so much love in her life already. I was so excited to introduce her to her fans.

IMG_5394

Her Great-Grandfather was very excited to meet her for the first time. Adele was named after his mother. It was so cute to see him holding her. So special.

The Men! Adele’s daddy, grandpa and great-grandpa.

She was happy, promise!

Then Aunty Mikaela came over!! She was so excited too.

IMG_5412

She gave Adele this super cute Cat from the Hallmark Store that talks back when you give it hugs. Adele was mesmerized by it!

Click here to see a cute video of her interacting with it!

Then Adele showed everyone all her tricks. Tummy Time!

From there, the parade continued and she got to meet Ashley and Hudson! (PS. I can’t believe how big he is! I remember him when he was Adele’s age!)

**Insert Nap on mom’s shoulder***

And the parade marched on while she got to meet (Great) Aunty Tina!

And cousin Justin!

Once everyone left, we gave Adele a bath and she coo-ed at Grammie and Grandpa for a while.

Baby’s Got Wings August 28, 2012

Adele made her first flight this past weekend. One hour up to San Francisco and then a 6-hour flight to Boston. She did awesome!
2012-08-25_09-35-09_362

We flew Virgin and I think she liked the bright lights and tv screens. She didn’t make a peep on either flight. She ate, she smiled and she charmed the other passengers. I was prepared for the worst and I was so scared the people on the plane would hate us, but she didn’t cry once!

My tips:
-Bring a nursing pillow. She ate, slept and played on it. It was big and kept poking into the aisle, but it was a lifesaver.
-Feed the baby during landing and takeoff so her ears pop.
-Check the stroller and carseat at the counter. We considered gate checking them, but it was nice not to have to bring them through security.
-Ask the flight attendant for ‘Wings’. We got some from the captain to remember her first flight by.
-Book an aisle and a window seat. Sometimes you get lucky and no one books the middle seat. We scored a whole row to ourselves on the LAX to SF leg!
-Sit close to the back of the plane so you can access the bathrooms quick for changing the bathroom. Bonus: You can stand in the galley and rock the baby if you need to.

We decided to extend our SF layover to four hours so we could meet up with Irving’s mom and grandmother for lunch. It definitely made our day longer, but it was fun to see family in the middle of our journey. We found some chairs outside of security that made for the perfect lunch spot.

We all had sandwiches, but Adele enjoyed some milk. =)
