Nothing too life-changing has been going on. Just a bunch of random, everyday adventures. In no particular order…

Beauty on a walk
Irving and I went on a few great walks this week, but one day, we saw these amazing flowers in someone’s yard. They look like they’re from outer-space! Does anyone know what these are called??

A Sad Day…
We are sad to report that we finished the jar of Nutella.
We had banana, peanut butter & nutella sandwiches for dessert one night.. MMMmm.

We have to get another one ASAP!

Running!
Erika & I went on a great 3.9 mile run on Friday. (I’ll spare you the sweaty picture.)

But post run… I had the most glorious cold shower. YAY!
Then had some fresh strawberries.

I ❤ when strawberries are in season. It’s such a nice treat.IMG_3981

Art on the Wall!
We are very excited to announce that after four years of living in our condo, we have pictures on our wall!
And not just any pictures… real nice ones!

Irving worked really hard to make a photo collage on the wall.

It came out awesome!

We plan to add two vertical frames on the upper right and lower left in the future.
(Seeing the frames on the wall, we realized it’s a lot of white, so we’re contemplating painting this wall green to make the pictures pop more. What do you think?)

We printed some pictures from our photographer, including this one (my fave):

I still have to get a frame for that one though.

Blogger Giveaway!
I won my first “blogger” giveaway this week! I was really, really excited about it.
Peanut Butter Fingers sent me a coupon for free Monterey Pasta! I’m very excited. Thanks!!

House of Pies
Last night, Ash & JR, Erika & Timmy, and us went to the House of Pies again!

It was fun conversation and really good coconut cream pie!

A Taste of Home
This morning, I woke up to a great cup of Iced Coffee from Dunkin Donuts. It really did (almost) taste like the real thing. Mmmm!

Isn’t my life exciting?

Today was just the perfect mix of friends, exercise and fun!

It started out with a 5 mile run with Erika and Timmy and the Los Angeles Racers. It was awesome. Started out cloudy and got bright and sunny by the end. What a great way to start the day!
IMG_3943

We completed the 5 miles in 1:07 (burning 465 calories!)

Mile 1: 12:29
Mile 2: 12:18
Mile 3: 13:42
Mile 4: 15:03
Mile 5: 13:26

After the run, I came home and caught up on the three episodes of Kendra on my TIVO. Classy.

Then headed out to TWO HOURS of Pilates at Mind2Body! They were having an open house, so Erica, Janet and I headed over for some free classes.

I ended up doing 4 back-to-back 30-minute classes: Mat, Magic Circle, Tower and Reformer.

IMG_3944

I had never done any kind of Pilates classes before, so this was a great intro into each aspect of it. I left feeling like my muscles were exhausted, but not in pain, it was so much fun. Totally relaxing. I focused a lot on breathing and I know I zoned out a couple of times. I totally needed this!

Then I met my friend, Danielle, for some iced coffee at Aroma Cafe.

IMG_3945

We spent an hour or so just chatting and laughing and catching up. It was a lot of fun.

Irving and I had a simple dinner together.
IMG_3946

Just some Trader Joes stuffed foccacia, veggies and a salad.
IMG_3947

…and watched three episodes of Weeds
IMG_3951

…while munching on Chocolate-Banana popcorn!

IMG_3956

The night ended with a competitive “best out of three” game of YAHTZEE!

What a great weekend! Whew!

Oh my Manicotti! June 5, 2010

We had quite the little impromptu dinner party last night. It all started when we saw we had one bag of Manicotti in the pantry that we wanted to use.
IMG_3910

So Irving whipped up some cheese filling to stuff them with…
IMG_3883

And then we realized that we had WAYYYY too much filling for just one tray of Manicotti… in fact, we ended up with FOUR trays of it…double stacked!

IMG_3895

So we solved the problem by inviting 15 of our friends over dinner. It was such a great time!

IMG_3892

Ma nicotti (x4)!

Make-You-Own-Caesar-Salad Station:

Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil Skewers!
IMG_3897

Our friends also brought Homemade Bread, Veggies, Green Bean Casserole, Garlic Bread & Wine!
IMG_3898

Janet brought over an AMAZING dessert! It was gone in like 10 minutes once we cut into it!
IMG_3901

With that many people at our house, we had a fun game of “Apples to Apples” going!
IMG_3903

We played in teams, which was SO much fun!
IMG_3905

IMG_3906

IMG_3907

Erika and Timmy won in the end!

Then we played a few rounds of “Left, Right, Center”. We had some helpers rolling the dice for us! So cute!
IMG_3908

We have great friends, thanks for coming over and entertaining us!

More S’Mores! June 3, 2010

Remember a few weeks back, Irving surprised me with this?

Well we made them the other night for our friends, and dare I say they were pretty amazing. lol Or at least I thought so!!

It started out as a package, all ready to go:

IMG_3751

It had Graham Cracker mix, Brownie mix, and of course, Marshmallows!

IMG_3874

Step one… make graham cracker bottom:
IMG_3877

Next comes the brownie layer (which had chocolate chips in it, mind you!)
IMG_3875

And Bake….. then later, add marshmallows and broil until they get gooey!
MMMmmm!
 IMG_3886

They were as delightfully messy as real s’mores and I thought they were pretty much the best thing Irving has ever bought for me. MMmm.

Outlet Shopping + Homemade Ice Cream May 29, 2010

We heard a rumor that there were some great sales up at the Outlets for Memorial Day, so we decided to make a day of it.

We had breakfast at Jamba Juice and drove up to Camarillo just in time for the stores to open their doors! We’re glad we got there early because by the end of the day, it was packed!

I had success at Ann Taylor Loft (my favorite store!)
0529001021

Didn’t get this one, but it was fun anyways!
 0529001023

I love how they reserve fitting rooms while you shop!
0529001034

We literally shopped from 10am til 5:30pm! It was fun to hang out and enjoy the sunny day together. The mall is outdoors, which we love. Irving’s pedometer said we walked over 3.5 miles shopping today!

Oh… get this! In the ADIDAS store, we found ONE Men’s Boston Marathon Jacket… for $24.99 and then 25% off!!

0529001628

I was really mad to see that there! It’s too early!!! They had 2009 Boston Marathon Finisher Shirts there too. I think you should have to earn those shirts! Not buy them on clearance at the outlet store! Or maybe that’s just me being upset for spending $90 on the same item. lol

ANNNYWAYS, the trip was definitely a success!
IMG_3848

For dinner, we had a Costco Take and Bake Pizza!
IMG_3852

And THEN I made some Christmas Miracle Banana+Nutella Soft Serve Ice Cream!

If you’ve never had this, you have to make it! Here’s an easy tutorial!

You have to freeze some ripe peeled bananas ahead of time and keep them in the freezer.

Grab your food processor (or a really good blender):
IMG_3853

Drop in your frozen bananas:

IMG_3854

AND BLEND!
IMG_3855

It’ll probably look a little chunky at first, but just keep blending. Eventually, it becomes creamy, like ice cream!
IMG_3856

Now…here’s the crucial step… add Nutella!!!!!
IMG_3857

(Irving is mad I keep eating away at his jar of Nutella… but you snooze you lose, buddy.)

It was SOOOOO good! You can definitely eat it plain (just bananas), but I like to add in some chocolate or coconut just to kick it up a little bit.
IMG_3860

Next time, I think I’ll add some peanut butter too. It really does taste like ice cream!
