Who’s idea was it to watch “My Sister’s Keeper” all alone?
File that one under “saddest-movie-of-all-time”.
The book was way better.
Night!

After over two decades, I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I’m an over achiever and a natural born worrier. I like to do it all. I say yes to everything, and I hate to disappoint. Sounds great in theory, except my world occasionally comes crashing down because, let’s face it, no one can maintain that kind of lifestyle.
I understand now that a lot of the stress and anxiety in my life was caused solely by me. I have such a guilty conscience. I need to give myself a break once in a while and unwind. (remember that whole post about decluttering and destressing?)
I wish I could just throw caution to the wind and be a free spirit, but that doesn’t work for me either. It’s all about balance! And I’m happy and proud when I recognize the unbalance and can reel it safely back in. (the alternative is to convince yourself you’re crazy and that’s not a happy place. lol)
Speaking of Happy Places….

Look what arrived at my doorstep today!!!
Ready for this?
6 absolutely perfect chocolate covered strawberries from Shari’s Berries!
Sent by my adorable friend Sarah over at www.gagadiaries.com If you aren’t reading her blog, you should check it out, she’s 20 weeks prego and cute as a button! (I would have said that even if she didn’t send me chocolate for my birthday.)
Sarah—totally not neccessary, but I’m not one to turn down chocolate covered anything! THANK YOU!
I shared one tonight with Ashley and it was pretty amazing.
I went straight for the coconut! Mmmm!!
Mood = Better (instantly!)

Today after work, I made an unplanned pitstop to get my nails done! I’m so proud for having kept them long for four months now and it feels great. Ladies, don’t take your nails forgranted.
This was my FIRST manicure EVER with real long nails!!!

We also had a fun time tonight with Irving’s family trying out some new technology and doing a 3-way video chat!!!!
They were all busy chatting and laughing and I was snapping pictures because I thought it was so cool. HAHA
There’s me!
We used the audio from Skype and the Video from MeBeam.com . So cool!
So all in all, a stressful day, but a perfect night. Right now, I have a date with netflix:
(I hear it’s a downer, but I loved the book).
Night, friends!
To top off the end of an absolutely perfect birthday weekend, Irving offered to make me a homemade mac n’ cheese to share with some of our friends! (Yay!)
Cheers!
We had SO much fun playing CLUE! Have you ever played with all 6 players? It’s really hard!!
Ashley won!!
But really…. we all won when the Mac N’ Cheese came out of the oven!!
Hello, cheesy melty goodness!
With a salad bar to uh… make the meal healthy?
Dessert was some cupcakes from this morning!!!
But don’t worry, I did not eat TWO cupcakes in one day (Irving did though!)
Instead, I licked all the frosting off this morning (you know, for breakfast!)
And then tonight…. I had a little bit of frosting and the cupcake left!
HAHA I know, I’m weird!

Happy Birthday to me!!
We toasted with some Apple Cider Iced Wine that JR and Ashley brought back from New York!
JR said he’s climbed from the trees that these apples were picked from!!!
YUM!
And one more bite of frosting. MMmm!
After that, we played a SUPER fun game of “Left, Right Center”!
JR won the pot!! Winner takes all!
(Just don’t spend your $5.25 winnings all in one place!)
And even though they weren’t supposed to, my amazing friends came armed with gifts!!!
I got a cute Demdaco statue and the girl was carrying the same kind of flowers that Irving bought me yesterday!
I have quite the collection of these guys now! I love them!
Red Wine and Chocolate…..Yes Please!
[edited to add: I also got a Michaels giftcard! This could be dangerous!] thanks!!!!]
I am LOVING all my pretty flowers! I’ve scattered them all over my place and I smile every time I see them!!
Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday, guys. You all mean so much to me! I am so thankful to have you as my friends!
And I seriously got over a hundred facebook emails from friends wishing me a ‘happy birthday’ too. Thanks everyone! Miss my East Coast friends, but I appreciate the texts, emails and phone calls!!

This morning, I convinced Irving to do a birthday walk with me with the Los Angeles Racers! I was so excited when he agreed. I love running or exercising on important days. (I even ran a few miles with my friends the morning of my wedding!)
It was a gorgeous morning to get outside!

Lovely!
After the walk, my friends brought CUPCAKES!!! Not just any cupcakes, those huge ones from Costco! (you know what i’m talking about!)
Nothing beats a huge cupcake at 8 in the morning!
There were FOUR LA RACERS Birthdays this month!!!
Happy Birthday, guys!
Mmmm Frosting!
Thanks guys! You all rock!

When we got home, Irving declared it was FINALLY time to open the presents!!
After all…. the countdown finally got to zero!
Look at all my goodies!!!!!!
I am pretty sure Irving had a field day in Fry’s Electronics last week. He’s probably SO excited that I’m finally as excited about computer parts as he is. lol
These are the final pieces I needed to finish off my computer! (I built myself a computer from scratch a few months ago, and these are the last odds and ends still left to install!!! YAY!)
Most importantly though, was the USB Hubman.
Get it??? Hubman = hubby?
Thank you so much, Irving!!!! And congratulations for finally making your wife as nerdy as you are. LOVE YOU!
Here I am… officially in my late twenties! I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year. 🙂
Irving had a top-secret evening planned! Yay!
He even got me pretty flowers!!
First stop was our favorite Pho Restaurant. I don’t even know the name because there is no sign on the door or any indication that it is even a restaurant. But I swear, it’s got the best Pho Ga in all of Los Angeles!
When we got to the restaurant, Erika and Timmy were waiting for us!
What a fun surprise! They are WAY better at keeping secrets than I would be. lol
We had fun introducing them to the world of Pho!
It’s basically a chicken noodle soup with rice noodles and some other goodies, but you put it all together yourself!
My favorite part is the mint!
All together!
Love those noodles!!!
Don’t forget the sauces!
YUM!
The next part of the plan was to head to the Griffith Park Observatory for a ‘Star Party’. They open up all the telescopes to the public to view the moon and the stars!
But there was no parking and the lines were too long, so we decided to be spontaneous and head to Castle Park for some mini golf!!!
(PS check out the cool anklet my mom gave me!)
Mini golf was SO much fun! I’m a nerd and I love things like that!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Erika!
Timmy!
The girls!
Irving and I!
Look how pretty the course is!
Upside down?
But OMG look at this GINORMOUS SPIDER!
There were Tons of those. That was NOT fun! …shivers…
Check out this hole! It’s like candyland!
Look! They even have a mini-golf chapel hole! haha
After that, we attempted to go to one of my favorite bars in the area, but it was apparently closed for renovations! Sad!
So we called it a night and went to bed early. (I told you I was old now!)
Thanks babe, what a fun night!!
