A look back at Nike… October 14, 2009
The Nike Marathon will always hold a special place in my heart. I can close my eyes and totally picture the entire course. I know where all the hills are, I know where the waterstops are, I know where the porto-potties are—and aren’t! I don’t get as nervous at the start line because I know what lies ahead… a route filled with beauty, positive energy…. and oh, a Tiffany’s Necklace. 🙂
I just walked down memory lane and reminisced about the previous four years….
2005 – 6:24:07 (Full Marathon)
So as you can see, 2:47 is the time to beat!!!

I Kidnapped The Snack Aisle!
Today was a beautiful rainy day in LA! I even wore a thick sweater to work! Woo Hoo!!! The misty weather probably would have been perfect for an evening run, but we decided to take a field trip over to Target instead. In retrospect, it was probably a bad idea to go after work when I was starving because look what we came back with!
Um yea. A whole lotta snacks! But in my defense, a lot of it was seriously on sale!
This was the star of the show:
 Vanilla Bean Truffles…. Heaven!
Was this really the purchase of a marathon runner? HAHA I feel like such a faker sometimes. Oh well.  I guess one could argue that Fruit Leather, Granola Bars, Whole Grain Goldfish and Kids Balance bars arent that bad, right? But Halloween Oreos? I have nothing to say about that….that was all Irving.

T-minus 5 Days til the Nike Half Marathon!!!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! I’m running the Nike Women’s Half Marathon for the 5th time on Sunday! First of all, I can’t believe that I’ve been a runner for a solid 5 years now. I think Irving and I both thought that my first race in 2005 was a one time deal.
Sunday’s race is going to be great, there are so many reasons to be excited:
- My 5th Anniversary as a Runner
- My 5th Nike Women’s Half Marathon race in a row
- My acceptance into the Boston Marathon (You can support me here!)
- My first race as a married woman (Although I totally goofed and when I signed up, I used my maiden name).
It’s going to be so great to run with all my friends and my new sister-in-law, EJ!
I can’t wait to see the expo!

Gmail says Rain! October 13, 2009
I LOVE the rain! In LA, I wait all year for the rainy season. Perpetual sun is great, but it just makes me appreciate the rain more. Nothing like falling asleep listening to the rain, or putting the fireplace on and reading a book.
My gmail background is the “weather one”, and usually it just looks sunny most of the year, but today, it looked like this! YAY!!!
