Surprise! Showering Mikaela! July 6, 2013

After a week of party after party, we weren’t finished yet! We still had to orchestrate Mikaela’s Bridal shower at the end of it all! It’s really amazing we were all able to keep it a secret since everyone was getting together day after day. We were all so nervous someone would slip up, but she swears she was really surprised! She thought Laurie, Adele and I were leaving on early morning flights, so we had a faux tearful goodbye the night before…. but….SURPRISE!!!!

We hosted her special party on the lawn of my grandparents house. We had rented a tent, though even the shade did nothing to combat against the severe heat and humidity! It was a scorching hot day, but everyone had a great time. I’d say it was a success.

All of her bridesmaids were there to celebrate Mikaela. She is a lucky girl to have friends like this!

We’re all so excited for Mikaela & Chris’s wedding in October! Which reminds me, I need to find some shoes.

We set up a photobooth in the corner and everyone had a BLAST taking pictures. I think it was the hit of the party. We have a talented photographer on our Team Bridesmaid that took some great shots.

And yes, I accidentally broke the glass of this frame when I was taking it apart. It was a labor of love.

We had a nice spread of food for everyone to enjoy while Mikaela mingled with her family and friends.

All in all, it was so much fun to celebrate my sister. I know everyone is looking forward to celebrating these two in a few more months. Love you guys!

Friends, Farms and Fun July 2, 2013

When I was back home, I reserved a full day to hang out with my friend Shelby and her adorable kids, Harper and Sullivan. I turn to Shelby weekly for advice on everything from sippy cups to bedtime routines. When we talk on the phone, we could go on and on for hours. The kind of friend anyone would be lucky to have. I miss her SO much! I got up at 6am to make the two-hour drive to her house so we could maximize the day together. Adele woke up just after we arrived and we all had a blast together!

We started our adventures at a local farm. Since it was a weekday, we had it all to ourselves too!

I think Adele was a little sleepy at first, so she enjoyed the animals from the luxury of her stroller.

But these two were so cute exploring together! They loved the bunnies!

Later, Adele decided to wake up enough to see the beautiful peacock!

So pretty!

The farm makes its own ice cream on the property and the kids were excited to introduce me to the best ice cream in the whole world!

It was SO hard to choose! But ultimate, this “Ice Cream Pizza Slice” won me over.

I’ll pause while you look at this picture. The ‘crust’ was cookie dough. Not a cookie…. cookie DOUGH. Then a layer of ice cream, then whipped cream… then Oreos and sprinkles. Yep. Just as amazing as it looks.

Is now a good time to tell you we had these ice cream treats at 10am? Ice cream for breakfast? That’s how we roll on warm summer mornings with friends we don’t see very often. We create memories (and sugar highs) one bite full of delicious ice cream at a time.

I hope these guys stay friends forever. I look forward to it as the years go on!

We spent the next few hours playing dominos, chatting and chasing kids around the house. It was awesome. Wish we could do it every week. Love you guys so much! xo

1st Birthday Party July 1, 2013

Yep, if you’re counting, this was Adele’s third birthday celebration. And her third smash cake. What can I say, go big or go home, right? The first birthday is special enough to be celebrated three times, right?

Aunty Mikaela graciously hosted her party, it was so cute!

Haha, Aunty Laurie remembered that both Irving and I had a birthday candle, so she bought Adele one! YAYYY!!!!!

Soon it was CAKE TIME!!! Adele was getting tired and cranky, but as soon as she had one taste of frosting, she was 100% focused on the job at hand.

I think Adele would have sat there and ate that whole cake if we let her! Grandpa to the rescue!

I am so lucky to have so many great high school friends, even after all these years. Love these girls!

Adele is such a lucky lady, she was surrounded by love on her special day.

Soon, the birthday girl emerged after a quick bath, ready to open her presents!

The Week Back Home

Last week, we had a super fun week back home in Boston. Lots of family time, lots of parties, lots of love. We had gorgeous weather and yummy food, and it was so nice to relax. Without further ado, here’s some highlights from the week in no particular order!

First up, my Cousin Corey’s Graduation Party!

His party was so nice. SO proud of him! We had a beautiful afternoon and everyone enjoyed playing Bocce on the lawn (family tradition)….but the littlest guest had fun playing with bubbles on the court too!

The Graduation Celebrations didn’t stop there! A few days later we were celebrating this guy too! Congratulations Andrew! So many smart cousins in the family!

Oh, you guys, I’m so sad I haven’t had a single moment to get on here to share all my awesome pictures from my trip back to Boston last week. It’s been a nutty few days back home on the ranch and I can barely keep my eyes open past 9:30pm. I think Adele and I were both jetlagged for a few days.
