Adele has a history of drooling after my delicious looking drinks. Case in point:

So while in Hawaii, it was no surprise that she was lusting after my Frozen Lava Flow. I don’t blame her.

In other “Baby Hawaii Food News”… Adele had tastes of a non-alcoholic coconut smoothie, whipped cream from a German Chocolate Cake dessert, and um…. an entire half of a mango shaved ice. (She would have ate the whole thing if I’d let her).

Baby’s First Hula Show

We didn’t think an authentic Luau would be worth it this time since Adele is so young, but our hotel offered a free Hula show, how could you go wrong! She loved the loud music and colorful dancers. Aloha!

A Morning in Downtown Kona May 14, 2013

Halfway through our trip, we took a morning to explore downtown Kona. It was so sticky-humid-hot, but it was nice to walk around down there. Kona is where the big Ironman Triathlon takes place!

I stopped to get an Iced (Kona) Coffee as we looked at the boats in the harbor. (HAHA Adele is totally eyeing my drink! Sorry, sweetheart, mommy doesn’t share the good stuff.

Sunset at Buddha Point

There are few things in the world more beautiful than a sunset at Buddha Point. It’s a must-see when you’re in Hawaii. It did not disappoint. Adele was pretty tired, but she got a second wind when she realized it was a special moment to experience.

The Beach: Swimming in A Bay May 13, 2013

The closest beach to our hotel was ‘A Bay’, which is located right on the property of the Waikoloa Marriott. We know that nearby Hapuna Beach is more beautiful, secluded and swim friendly, but we didn’t really feel like schlepping all our stuff and an 11-month old all the way there. We got all the benefits of a beach day, without the hassle at A Bay. It was a beautiful morning.

As much as she loved being in the Ocean (for the first time!!), she liked the shore better so she could feel the waves lap her little feet.

As much as we loved being at the Ocean, there wasn’t much shade and it was HOT.

So after a couple of hours, we packed up and headed back to our hotel pool which has an abundant of umbrellas. You can’t go to Hawaii and not go to the beach! But we thought with Adele being so young, it was more fun at the pool.

I can’t wait for a year or two from now when she’ll get excited about sand castles and shell collecting. Hopefully we have a little beach baby in the making.
