Mikaela + Chris: The Rehearsal October 15, 2013

M&C got married at a gorgeous winery in New Hampshire. The setting was absolutely beautiful.

The rehearsal was a couple of days before the big event and it was so fun seeing family and friends getting excited about it too!

The rehearsal itself went great! I know the bride was very excited!

Adele was the flower girl, which meant she had a very important job to do. But unfortunately… she slept through the entire rehearsal. haha

Once Adele woke up, we took a few pictures because really, there is no better backdrop than this property. Stunning!!

Indy Days September 14, 2013

After my time in St. Louis, I made it back to Indianapolis to spend one last night there. On my last day, Grandma Julie and I took Adele to a nice park. We enjoyed the playground and the Nature Center nearby (Adele loved the turtles!)

And then I said goodbye to my baby girl. Adele stayed in Indy with her Grandma and Aunties for 6 more days (the longest I’ve ever been away from her!) I was sad but I knew she would have fun. I gave her lots of kisses.
Love you, Adele!! Be a good girl!

I have to say, I rather enjoyed my first solo flight since January 2012! It was SO nice to kick back and read a book {reading The Paris Wife and loving it!} and some magazines without wrangling a toddler on my lap for hours on end.

She didn’t even have time to miss me because she had SO much fun there! First, EJ and Sarah took her to the Zoo! I heard she slept through parts of it…

But then woke up in time to see giraffes and zebras!

I heard she also loved the Sea Lion show! She must have remembered Sea World!

Thanks for such a fun day!!

Next up, she visited the Indianapolis Children’s Museum! In fact, it was so fun, she went back again the next day too! Looked awesome, so jealous!

She even anchored the evening news!

Other highlights from the week included a street fair and some other good eats!

I think Adele had an amazing vacation. Looks like they had great weather too!

Gymboree! July 14, 2013

Last week, we checked out the Gymboree Open Gym. It’s hard to commit to a session of classes because of our schedules, but I wanted to see what it was all about.

We all loved it! Adele didn’t stop moving for over an hour!

She even jumped on the trampoline for an hour. I have to take her back solely for the purpose of watching her little feet dance on this thing again. So cute!

She prefers to climb up the slides instead of going down. She was so proud of herself when she got to the top!

Irving knows how to juggle and Adele was fascinated watching him. Can’t wait til she’s old enough for him to teach her!

Mom doesn’t have cool talents, but nobody loves this girl like I do!

Red, White and Blue! July 7, 2013

We had an amazing four-day weekend over here! We started off not having any plans, and ended up having a lot of fun filling in our days as went.

On Thursday, the Fourth of July, we woke up early and headed out to march in our neighborhood parade. Adele somehow slept through the whole thing– marching band, drums and all.

I know, I know, mom fail… who puts their kid in GREEN on July 4th?! I realized my mistake and quickly changed her into a more patriotic outfit.

This was a hand-me-down outfit that I am so in love with. Patchwork Patriotism on a baby. Is there anything cuter?

We grilled up some chicken kabobs with onions, peppers and pineapple and served it with rice for lunch. It was a wonderfully lazy afternoon, we just relaxed, enjoyed lunch, and got some good quality time in.

In the evening, we headed to a friends house for a BBQ! It was an awesome spread of food and even better company. We had a great time, thanks Caitlin and Howard!

We headed back home before sunset, gave Adele a bath and started getting her ready for bed. But at the last minute, I decided to keep up up just a little bit later and we snuck off to our roof around 9p to watch the fireworks! We saw a few and then called it a night. Adele promptly passed out as soon as her head hit the ~~pillow~~ mattress.

Surprise! Showering Mikaela! July 6, 2013

After a week of party after party, we weren’t finished yet! We still had to orchestrate Mikaela’s Bridal shower at the end of it all! It’s really amazing we were all able to keep it a secret since everyone was getting together day after day. We were all so nervous someone would slip up, but she swears she was really surprised! She thought Laurie, Adele and I were leaving on early morning flights, so we had a faux tearful goodbye the night before…. but….SURPRISE!!!!

We hosted her special party on the lawn of my grandparents house. We had rented a tent, though even the shade did nothing to combat against the severe heat and humidity! It was a scorching hot day, but everyone had a great time. I’d say it was a success.

All of her bridesmaids were there to celebrate Mikaela. She is a lucky girl to have friends like this!

We’re all so excited for Mikaela & Chris’s wedding in October! Which reminds me, I need to find some shoes.

We set up a photobooth in the corner and everyone had a BLAST taking pictures. I think it was the hit of the party. We have a talented photographer on our Team Bridesmaid that took some great shots.

And yes, I accidentally broke the glass of this frame when I was taking it apart. It was a labor of love.

We had a nice spread of food for everyone to enjoy while Mikaela mingled with her family and friends.

All in all, it was so much fun to celebrate my sister. I know everyone is looking forward to celebrating these two in a few more months. Love you guys!
