This morning, I got out the door at 6:30a to meet the Los Angeles Racers for a 5-mile run. It was fantastic. I was still a little tight from the 5k Erika and I ran this week (because I’m sadly a wee bit out of practice with the running!) But I really pushed myself today and it felt amazing.

I was with a few friends and I kept pace with them pretty good today. Sometimes it feels amazing to push past your comfort level a little bit and push on. It was a really rewarding run.

Plus the sun stayed hidden by the clouds til after we were done. That always helps.

Here’s the stats:
5 Miles in 1:03. Burned 470 Calories.

Mile 1: 11:48
Mile 2: 13:28
Mile 3: 12:28
Mile 4: 12:32
Mile 5: 12:45

I was hoping for some negative splits, but I’m pretty happy about our pace. That was doing 5:5 intervals (5 minutes running and 5 minutes walking).

After coming home and showering, Erika and Timmy and I walked down to the Hollywood Farmer’s Market.

We saw this lemonade stand and HAD to get some!

I got a Watermelon Lemonade! (PS. I’m trying curls in my hair. What do you think?)

For lunch, we met up with Irving at Umami Burger in Hollywood.

It’s a funky new restaurant that all the celebs are raving about.

At first, I was less than impressed. The staff wasn’t very outgoing and it was a little awkward.
There are also a lot of ordering “rules” and they are pretty adamant about them. I thought this was a little off putting.

But all that aside, the burger was actually really impressive.

(But I hate when restaurants don’t serve anything on the side. It was literally JUST the burger. Where are my fries and pickles? (They are sold separately and that really annoys me!)

This was definitely a gourmet burger, and it was worth all the aggravation.

Irving’s had crusted parmesan and some other goodies on it.

I’m not a huge meat eater, but I ate every last bite of mine. MMM!

For “dessert”, we had some of Honey Straws from the Farmer’s Market!
Irving’s matched his shirt!

A very fun day in Hollywood.

Yesterday, Erika and I ran a 5K through our neighborhood. It wasn’t fast by any means (I definitely slowed her down), but it felt so good to get out there and do it.

I have to start following my training plan for the fall!

Here were my stats for the run:

It was so hot that I got a migraine after we ran. Grrr. I swear, my body does not do well in heat. I get cranky and tired everytime I have to be in the sun when it’s too hot.

I’ve  been staying up really late recently, which is really out of character for me. I’m usually out by 10pm or so. But this week I’m just not tired…

So I stayed up tonight to put together a video of our New England Trip. It’s a pretty rough edit, I really hate Windows Movie Maker.

[[Does anyone know of any consumer editing software that is similar to Avid or Final Cut Pro, but for a PC?]]

This video is 2.5 minutes long. Enjoy!!

I Loooooooove Tetris! I wish my Nintendo still worked. (The 1989 console, not the newer gameboy junk).

I downloaded a Tetris widget for my computer a while back and I seriously play EVERY DAY!

Not to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty good. It takes me FOREVER to finish games sometimes because I keep clearing the lines back down to the bottom. haha

Tonight, Irving and I just listened to this over and over.

Awe man, I miss my old-school Nintendo. I really think that if they brought those things back, they’d make a killing. I’d take that over the wii anyday.

Ready for the Country Club!

Last night, Erika, Timmy, Irving and I teed up for a foursome of golf together! We played the 9-hole De Bell course in Burbank, and it was pretty awesome.

I love this course because you don’t have to be very good to play. No pressure. 🙂 But from all the cool weather we’ve been having, the greens were actually in really good condition.

The sun was really pretty too, we had such a nice time. There goes Timmy!

Erika lining up a putt!

I love Irving’s new shirt because it’s TEAL! Golfing is 90% fashion, 10% skill.

Speaking of fashion… just sign us up for the country club!

Look at that focus! That ball went flying!

Um… unlike this ball on the 9th hole…. WHIFF!

I love this picture. We should sell it to Golf Digest Magazine. HAHA

It was such a great way to spend a summer evening.
