Last night was beautiful. A little chilly, but still perfect for a walk. I called up Erika and we laced up our sneakers for a 3 mile walk around the park. I am just so motivated lately and I’m so excited to be walking consistently again.

Little Sophie was an angel on our walk. She was just looking around, taking it all in. I can’t believe how big she is getting. She’s so observant and happy when she’s outside.

I had so much fun chatting with her mama. We always have great deep conversations. Sorry if I talk too much, Erika! hee hee.

This morning, I wanted to keep the momentum going, so I set out on a 2 mile walk before work. I listened to my NPR podcasts (man, I’m so far behind on them!)

Look who I saw along the way! A Snail! I think they come out in the morning after all the lawn sprinklers are finished. But where do they live during the day? where do snails come from anyways?

What have you seen out on your runs/walks lately? I always try to keep an eye out for fun stuff.

BlogHer weekend is here!!! We left LA at 3:15 and it took us over three hours to get down to San Diego. I was getting a little anxious because I hate being late!

IMG_6784

But Irving dropped me off right at the convention center, and I had plenty of time to explore the expo. I love conferences!
IMG_6786

I grabbed my badge and swag bag and took my time taking it all in. Some of the vendors had fun activities going on. I talked to some of the sponsors, ate a couple of food samples (Hello, Kings Hawaiian. My, your bread is delicious!)

Look who else was there!! The Pine Sol Lady!!!! She was so sweet. Irving commented how big I’m smiling in this picture. Well, yea!

Once my bag was sufficiently filled up with goodies, I headed to my next destination in the Gaslamp District.

PS. Any hotel that has Necco Wafers at the front desk is a winner in my book. These are my FAVORITE! (I stole one!)
IMG_6793

And guess who I was meeting there? The fabulous Kath from Katheats.com! She organized a great group of readers/bloggers for an evening walk and FroYo night. The local girls picked a great scenic route.

This pedestrian bridge made the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot!

And our walk ended at Pinkberry!

It’s almost like Menchies except they put the toppings on for you.
IMG_6799

I ordered a mini Salted Caramel with strawberries, and it was actually pretty good. I suppose this was also my dinner, so I kept it light.
IMG_6800

It was so fun making new friends and chatting with Kath. She’s adorable and so easy to talk to.

I got back to my hotel around 10, but I am still SO tired! I just can’t catch up on sleep this week! I skipped the 5K run this morning to sleep an extra hour or so.

Off to seek out some coffee Tea.

Singing Stars of Hollywood August 2, 2011

We had yet another night at the Hollywood Bowl this past weekend. It was the LA Philharmonic with “The Singing Stars of Television”! It was quite the all-star cast and we had a great time. But first! The food!

We usually picnic beforehand, and it’s SO much more fun with a big group of people. We had an impressive spread this time!
IMG_6747

We had 8 people in our group (whoo hoo!) and this was the menu:
-Chicken and Beef Skewers from Zankou Chicken
-Basmati Rice from Zankou
-Buffalo Chicken Dip with chips (made by yours truly! Recipe coming tomorrow!)
-Summer Garden Salad
-Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
-Fresh Fruit
-Hummus
-Blonde Brownies
-CRUMBS CUPCAKES!
-Sparkling Lemonade

Yea. It was epic.

I’d say the Bowl was only about half full that night (which is crazy considering how amazing the show was!) We had a whole section (or two) all to ourselves!

Ok! Get Ready! Blurry pictures ahead!

First up was Michael Feinstein. He’s really talented. I was impressed at the range of his voice.
IMG_6753

Next up was Florence Henderson! Yep. THE Mrs. Brady!!! She even sang the theme song to the Brady Bunch! It was so cool!!! She’s adorable.
IMG_6758

Wayne Brady and Cheyenne Jackson also did a few numbers. Cheyenne is super cute! I guess he’s on Glee? I need to watch more TV.

But I was most excited to see Dick Van Dyk. That man is incredible! You can just tell that he’s had a career doing something that he loves. He did a bunch of songs from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins!!!
IMG_6766

And perhaps the best part was when he actually rapped a song with his group “The Vantastics”.

I found a video of it on Youtube that you have see. Click ahead to 2:45 in the clip.

I feel so lucky to see these amazing stars live on stage! What a fun night.

9 Years Ago Today… July 28, 2011

My mom sent me these pictures today and was very excited that they were taken 9 years ago today. My friends and I were up in New Hampshire for a weekend and decided to hike up the Flume Gorge.

Irving and I went with my mom and three of my best friends: Sean, Erika and Billy!

I remember hiking and looking at the waterfalls and having a great time.

It wasn’t until I moved away that I realized how much awesome stuff there is to do in New England. I can’t wait to take my future kids back through some day and see all of it again.

Look how young we are here! I was only 18!

Haha, if you look at my hand, I have a ring on my middle finger. Who would have know that just a few years later, I would have one on my ring finger!!

PS. Also on this trip, we saw The Old Man in the Mountain! Not too much later, it actually fell off! I’m glad I got to see it while it was still there!

Babes in The Park July 26, 2011

A couple of years ago, it seemed like everyone we knew was engaged and getting married! And now it feels like all my friends have baby fever! Each of my bridesmaids in my wedding has since had a baby and so many more of my good friends. It’s so exciting to see your childhood friends become moms themselves. So when we were home last week, I made sure to have plenty of time to get my fill of the little ones!

We organized an afternoon in the park, and it was SO much fun!IMG_6381

We miss these guys so much! They’re all getting SO big!!! Here’s Harper, Brady and Hudson! They played together all afternoon. It was so exciting to hold them, chat with the moms (and dads!) and enjoy the fresh summer breeze. I wish I had more time, I can’t get enough of them!
IMG_6386

Parents: This just in… Blue Duckies are the hot new item! The kids LOVE them!
IMG_6396

A few hours definitely wasn’t enough time, but I enjoyed EVERY second of hanging out with my friends! When I have kids of my own, I have plenty of experts to ask for advice! IMG_6401

XOXO, Love you guys!
