One of the many life changes that comes with having a baby I guess.
This past weekend, we put the baby’s room all together. Now all the furniture is in place and it feels so real!
The baby’s room will also double as our home office, so the challenge was making it still feel like a nursery, while still being functional for us too. We are SO happy with how it came out.
Here’s a little time lapse video we made to document how it all came together! Enjoy!
You know how in the old battery commercials, the Energizer Bunny keeps going and going and the other brand starts strong, but fizzles out? I totally feel like the other brand lately. I wake up refreshed, go strong all day, run around like a crazy person getting things done and then 9:15pm hits and I just slam into a wall. I’m not complaining though because I really do feel great all day long.
Why yes…. those are green walls you see behind me!!!
Hubby has been working extra hard this week to paint the room and get it ready for the baby!
Baby says: I love you, daddy!!!
Full baby room reveal next week sometime when it’s all put together, but I am so in love with it.
All that’s left on the list is ‘fold laundry’ and that’s only because it’s still in the dryer. Hope I can stay up long enough to wait for it!
But laundry is boring, let’s talk about my icecream!
Banana Soft Serve
-Bananas (frozen)
-1 TB Peanut Butter
-1 Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
Blend all in a food processor til creamy. Garnish with fresh strawberries. Enjoy.

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!
For almost six years, we’ve lived comfortably in our two-bedroom condo. We fell in love with our spacious home office and spent 99% of our time hanging out at our desks. We each had our own space and could do whatever we wanted in our own corners. We eat there, watch TV there (on our computers), work on projects, scrapbook, plan vacations, etc. The list goes on and on.
When we moved in, it looked like this:
And soon after, we each had a side that was uniquely ours. Irving’s had LA Galaxy decorations, and mine looked like this:
But now that baby is on the way, we had some serious compromising to do because this room has to now serve as the nursery. We’ve been working furiously to get rid of things we don’t need (through ebay, craigslist & donations) and reorganize our lives to accommodate for the third member of our family. We are getting really close to being done; every day gets closer and closer.
This past weekend, our project was to break down the book shelves and clean out the closet.
DURING:
The TV has been donated, CDs have been digitized and/or put into binders, drawers have been sold on craigslist and VHS tapes have been boxed up. Everything else has found a new home elsewhere in the condo.
Out with the old and in with the new! Baby needs book shelves, right?
We also cleared out half our closet. Sorry baby, you don’t get a whole closet though, you have to share with the scrapbook supplies, tool boxes and Irving’s golf clubs. You don’t mind though, right? We got a baby closet organizer so we have a place to store clothes, toys, diapers, etc. Irving was such a great daddy this weekend and put it all together.
Not bad, right? It’s a work in progress. We can’t wait to take the desks apart, build the crib, paint the room and decorate. We’re super excited.
We’re in the process of converting our home office into a nursery (more on that later!) Part of the process includes selling, donating and trashing A LOT of things to make room.
Today’s task: Conquer my Pen drawer (I’m a closeted Pen Hoarder)! I’ve never met a colored pen I didn’t like. I took them all out and tested every.single.one today and tossed about 20 of them.
They are now organized my type: Sharpies (thin and thick), Markers, Colored Pens, crayons, Regular pens, highlighters… I have a problem. Don’t let me steal any more pens!
Fresh Start 2012!
What are you doing to kick off the new year fresh?
