So, with the help of Irving, I’m building my own Desktop Computer. I’m pretty excited about it. For months, I’ve been buying the pieces, one at a time. And now it’s getting close to being done!

This week, we started to assemble the pieces together. First step: start with an empty tower:

Apparently, static electricity can do damage to the mother board, so you have to “ground” your body to the computer!

I was trying to remember all the things I learned in my electronics class in high school. Yep, you read that right, I took a class all about schematics and transistors in high school… by choice. HAHA NERD!

We started screwing things together one by one.

It’s all coming together!

I love how the motherboards totally look like little cities. Irving would say “ok, plug that into the 6 prong connector on the side”. And I’d respond “oh, you mean the hotel next to the water tower?” HAHA

It got a little confusing once it started getting crowded inside the tower, but I think we’re almost done!

She just needs a few more pieces, and pretty soon, I’ll be bloggin’ from a brand new system. I can’t wait!

Easter!

Sunday was a nice relaxing day. It was so beautiful outside. It really did feel like spring. And for LA, sometimes that’s hard to find.

I woke up a little homesick for my family on the east coast, but they sent over a ton of pictures. My family is pretty big. Look how cute all the cousins are!!

And of course little Gizmo enjoyed Easter too!

I started my day out by planting some Crocus Bulbs. They are supposed to bloom in a month or so. I really hope they do! I don’t exactly have a green thumb (even for little pots like this). So we’ll see.

I was so lucky to have good friends close by to celebrate Easter with! Erica and Beth came over and we had a nice little lunch. It was so fun!

The bunnies looked on as we ate! The Mimosas totally made the meal, I think.

And if you can’t tell, Erica and Beth are sisters!

After lunch, we played a fun game of Yahtzee!! And (no joke) Erica rolled Yahtzee THREE TIMES in one game!!!!

Unfortunately, the fun was interrupted by a 7.2 Earthquake! It was so weird. My chandelier above us was swinging back and forth!

Thankfully there wasn’t much damage, but still pretty crazy to feel it rolling like that.

When Irving got home, we finished the night with some Jelly Beans and Chocolate Eggs.

Happy Easter!!

This morning I ran my last double-digit mile run! I had my new shoes, new socks, chocolate GUs, bottle of Ultima…. and I headed for the hills! We ran in Griffith Park today, which has some killer hills in it if you plan the route right. We did a flat 5 miles, followed by a hilly 2 miles, then a nice downhill 3 miles.

I love running in the park because it’s a change of scenery (sorry, no pictures! I ran sans camera today!) But it stinks that you have to share the road with cyclists and cars. There isn’t much of a running path, and it’s quite dangerous in some places. Plus they’re doing construction on the road and it’s just crowded! But I do enjoy passing other runners and doing the runner’s “nod” and saying hi. Makes me smile.

Today’s Stats:

10 Miles in 2:06:07

Mile 1 – 11:32
Mile 2 – 11:32
Mile 3 – 11:45
Mile 4 – 13:12
Mile 5 – 13:13
Mile 6 – 13:50
Mile 7 – 12:28  <—-UP HILL
Mile 8 – 12:16  <—-DOWN HILL
Mile 9 – 13:13  <—-DOWN HILL
Mile 10 -13:05

I am a little confused why my UP hill mile is faster than my DOWN hill miles. I feel like I’m a very inconsistent runner. Perhaps something to work on in the future.

The run really felt great though. I’m still getting blisters in the same place every time I run though. (I’ll spare you the picture). I can’t figure out why. It could be that I buy my shoes in “wide” and maybe there’s too much room? My socks are too thin? Does anyone have any suggestions on running with blisters? They don’t hurt at all, but I don’t want them to pop during the race! I’m seriously considering taping them with athletic tape during the race, but what if it comes off and bunches up in my shoe? Any suggestions?

Oh my Gosh! I totally forgot to show you my new necklace that my friend Sarah gave me!!!!! Remember a while back I wrote about how cute these were? It has two charms on it. I adore it. I’ve been wearing it every day.  I’ll post a picture of me actually wearing it this week. 🙂

Thank you Sarah!

You can find these at Lift Your Sole! They’re so cute!

Marathon weekend is 2 weeks away!!!!

Today’s post is all about the little things in life that make me happy. 🙂

Let’s begin with new running shoes. Who doesn’t love the feel of brand new shoes, just waiting for a nice run around the block? These are the same make/model as my old shoes, but they just feel bouncier and comfy. I can’t wait to run my 10 miles in them this weekend!

I love that the box says “Run Happy”. After all, that’s the point right?

Check these out, they’re practically GLOWING!

You know what else makes me happy? Free Socks!! The lady threw in a pair of dri-fit socks for free.

She probably felt bad for me since I just shelled out close to $130 for a pair of sneakers that USED to cost like $75. Oh, this post was about being happy…. YAY RUNNER’S FUEL!

I love my Ultima. It’s the only sports drink mix that doesn’t have sugar in it. And that makes my tummy HAPPY!!!

And who doesn’t love FLOWERS! I picked these up at the grocery store today. They were just screaming: “It’s Spring! It’s Easter! It’s a beautiful day!”

There are my beautiful east Bunnies that my grandparents gave us for our engagement! I just LOVE them.

Hmmm… what else…check out these WIERD veggies I had for dinner. I dont know what they were, but they were REALLLY good!

And last but not least…. I love crafts!!! I used iron-on letters to add my name to my Boston Marathon Race Jersey last night! Pretty good, eh?

Have a happy night!
