Here’s the Fall 2012 Collection of the Art by Adele. She’s quite talented if I don’t say so myself.

That’s one major bonus of daycare: awesome art projects. Keep em coming, Adele. Mommy loves them.

Christmas Day, we all went over to my sister Mikaela’s house for lunch and some gifts! Adele was able with her BFF Gizmo too.

We had an awesome Italian feast cooked by Mikaela and her future mother-in-law, Nancy! As a reward, she got to hold Adele for a while, I think she was happy to do so. (Hi, Nancy!) Dinner was fantastic.

And then we toasted to the future Mr & Mrs with some wine from the vineyard they are getting married at. We’re all looking forward to their wedding next year!

Sorry Adele… you have 21 more years til you can have a sip.

We waited a few more days to do all our gifts so everyone could be there, but we were all too excited to wait for Adele’s. So she got to open all her presents early.
She got so many nice things from everyone! Toys, clothes, feeding supplies, games, ornaments! She also got a pillow pet, a CD where all the songs are about ‘Adele’, and a story book where my parents recorded their voices reading it so Adele can hear them when we read it together (I know, I almost cried!) Lots of thoughtful gifts for my little girl. I say it again, she is so lucky.

She was in such a great mood all day long. I love her excited expression! She smiles with her whole face now!

Other Christmas Day festivities included a photoshoot…

..and games for the boys (of course!)

Do you think Adele likes the cold weather?

Um… nope!
Mom, what is this? We don’t have this in LA!
The party continued over my aunt’s house. That’s become a fun tradition. We eat desserts and play games. There’s always a mean game of ‘Left, Right, Center‘ to be played. This year, Michelle reigned champion!

Adele had an awesome first Christmas.

And maybe had too much fun. All the excitement tuckered her out and she fell asleep on Grammie. The perfect end to a perfect day.

On December 23rd, Irving, Adele and I took a red-eye flight to Boston to celebrate Christmas. Getting to the airport was hilarious because we also drove our friends and their baby there as well. In our trusty minivan, we fit 4 adults, 2 screaming babies in carseats, 2 large suitcases, 3 medium carry-on suitcases, 2 diaper bags, 1 stroller and 4 carryons. Not sure how we managed that, but it was so fun and a great way to kick off our vacation!
Our flight was overnight so we were banking on Adele sleeping the whole way like she did back in August. But this time around, she has a lot more energy and is very easily distracted so falling asleep wasn’t so easy. I tried nursing her, bottle feeding her and cuddling her, but she only fell asleep when I strapped her to my chest in the carrier and bounced up and down in the galley. Once she was out, I carefully slid back into my seat, and she slept that way for the next 4 hours of the flight. I think our seat-mates were grateful!
We arrived into Boston just in time for a shower and a nap before all the Christmas Eve festivities began! We had a packed night ahead of us!

Our Christmas Eve is not complete with out some Lebanese food: Homemade Tabouli, Hummus and Kibbeh. Delicious. (Minus the Kibbeh, I do not eat that. ha)

We always eat well on Christmas Eve, that’s for sure.

When we arrived, Adele was fast asleep in her carseat, despite the hoards of people waiting to kiss her. She didn’t quite know what to do in her jacket, mittens and hat. She’s not used to this cold weather!
(PS, Check out those curls!)
Everyone waited so patiently for our sleeping beauty to wake up. haha

Last year, she was in my belly. This year, she’s almost 7 months old on Christmas! I still can’t believe we are a family of three now. We had so much fun with her on Christmas!

Cute baby tights from Grammie. Adorable!
It was so great to see my family and catch up with my cousins. The downside of living on the opposite coast is missing out on the day-to-day with everyone. I love my family!

The proud Grammie and Grandpa!

After lots of playing, cuddling, cooing and eating sweet potatoes….

…It was time for Presents!! Adele got totally spoiled this year. Lots of books, clothes and toys! She was so cute opening her gifts. She sat like a big girl and got excited about everything she got.

But of course, the wrapping paper was a total hit as well. haha
Don’t throw out the baby with the trash!

I think Adele’s first Christmas Eve was a definitely success. She (and her dimples) had an absolute blast. Thank you to everyone!! We are so lucky. Merry Christmas!!
I love Ikea. Half of my furniture in my house is Ikea. And now most of Adele’s toys came from there as well. But I can’t ignore how funny their stuff is sometimes. Everything we buy has at least one thing wrong with it. For example, their picture frames are not made for America’s standards 4×6 or 8×10 photos. All of our pictures have to be cropped or matted to fit into them. But we love their stuff and continue to shop there. The price is right, anyways!
But please join me in laughing at how funny this is. We got Adele two toys from Ikea for Christmas, both of which we love. But really, Ikea?
EXHIBIT A: The Shape Sorter
Compared to all the Fisher Price and Playskool models out there, this is a deal at $4.99. The house is made from solid wood and made in Sweden. It’s the perfect size for Adele and she LOVES to put all the shapes inside and take them all out again.

It will be great for teaching Adele shapes someday…
Look, Adele, it’s a square…a circle..a triangle…and a….Window?
Oh, Ikea.
EXHIBIT B: Titta Folk
So cute! Where else can you get a snorkeler, a santa and an Amish man finger puppet all in one set? I mean, it’s kinda awesome.
It’s a fun set to sing “Where is Thumbkin” too and Adele likes to chew on their heads.

But seriously… why is the tag on the ghost so big? It’s twice the size of the puppet itself!

Oh, Ikea….
We took Adele to a story time group a couple of weeks ago. Most of the kids were 2-3 years old, but Adele impressed us by being quiet, paying attention and smiling. I think we might have a little book worm on our hands!

Besides the books, the most interesting part of the whole day was the green shag rug. She was enjoying burying her hands into it, she loved it!
