You didn’t think I’d let that little baby avoid a weekly photoshoot just because we were on vacation, did you? No no no, my friends. Poor kid can’t escape the camera even on the other side of the country. But she’s a ham, she loves it.
But all these pictures weren’t just to capture her pretty face. I had a project in mind that I couldn’t wait to execute. It didn’t quite work out as planned, but I think it’s pretty awesome anyways. The Four Generations!
Behind the scenes!
I’ve been reading about the Isle of Capri for years on Kelle Hampton‘s beautiful blog. When I was in Florida and I saw a sign for “Isle of Capri”, I knew I just HAD to visit! So the whole family decided to check it out and have dinner there. It was amazing.
We were seated at a table RIGHT on the water. The waves literally crashed a foot away from us. And we were there just before sunset and the views were magical.
Not sure if Adele really knows how lucky she is!
Talk about dining with a view!
The meal was delicious. (And apparently we stumbled upon half-priced happy hour too! Score!)
Adele, are you yelling at a sea gull or something? She has the funniest animated expressions lately. Cracks me up.

Yep. That’s right. I took Adele to the library while on vacation…. TWICE!
There was a super cute library in the neighborhood so we went early in the week and checked out a bunch of books to have at the house while we were there. And it was so great, I took my mom back there again later in the week. And guess what? They had the same puzzle
My mom put Adele in a chair so she could play and I was amazed and said, “She can sit in a chair?!” and my mom looked at me like I had three heads and said “Of course she can”! She looks like a mini first grader sitting at a desk! She’s getting so big!
We read a few books, played with a few puzzles and then we spotted the little Puppet Theater in the corner! Adele sat for a long time and watched the awesome puppet show that grammie put on for her with all the animal puppets. The turtle was her favorite.
Adele was quite amused by the show. I definitely recommend scouting out libraries when you’re on the go and need to find something to do with little ones. And it was a nice escape from the Florida heat too. I’m sure there will come a time when Adele will roll her eyes at the suggestion of a library, but for now, I’m enjoying it while I can.
Adele accidentally got a hold of our mail on Saturday…. and um, this is what happened. I’m embarrassed to admit that the missing chunk has never been found.
*shakes head in horror*
At least she knows junk mail when she sees it, right?
We couldn’t WAIT to take Adele in the pool. Actually, to be more specific, Grammie couldn’t wait to take Adele in the pool.
My mom was a swim teacher for years and years. She started in her teens and continued to teach classes even after I was born. In fact, she taught me, my sisters and most of my childhood friends to swim too.
Suffice it to say, Adele LOVED the water.
I think she thought it was one big giant bathtub. She kicked, she squealed, she laughed. She was sad to get out.

I bought her this new bathing suit the day before I left and I was so glad I did, it’s so cute!
After Adele was done swimming, someone would whisk her away to change her and keep her warm…. and then the rest of us would jump in here for a while.
Adele probably wanted to join us, but sorry, no kids allowed. She was confused.
