Today was free coffee day at Coffee Bean. And I was very excited about an afternoon pick-me-up.

I tried the Mocha Mint Chip. It tasted ok, but for all the sugar in it, it wasn’t very sweet. And it had an artificial flavor to it. I drank it in 10 minutes flat, but it left a lot to be desired. Needless to say, after drinking it, I felt sluggish and unmotivated.

Good thing I have healthy friends who inspire me.

I grabbed my weights and tried to find a workout on demand…. but Time Warner pretty much stinks.

So I made up my own weight routine while I caught up on some Secret Life.

I haven’t lifted in a really long time, so I was fatigued earlier than normal. But I’ll just have to build it all back up again and hope for the best.

-Bicep Curls 20 reps x 2
-Tricep Dips 20 reps x2
-Lateral Raises 20 reps x2
-Crunches x 50
-Pushups (on knees) 10×2
-Tricep Pull Backs 20 reps x2
-Squats x10
-Lunges x10 (each leg)

(all of these were done with 5lb weights).

We’re heading out for a walk now too. I love fresh summer air.

In other news, I have 31 dri-fit tshirts in my closet. 31!!! That’s crazy.

I feel guilty getting rid of race shirts (some of them are really nice!)
What’s your favorite race shirt?
I LOVE the ragnar one! And the one from my first Marathon. =)

Pineapple/Coconut Juice
This lovely taste of heaven is 100% juice. I feel like I’m on a tropical island when I drink it. It’s sweet and refreshing. Not easy on the calorie scale, but it tastes like dessert anyways, so why not, right? I’ve been having it in place of dessert this week. So I guess it evens out.

One Pan Meals
As I said before, we don’t “cook”, we “assemble”. And one-pan meals make it happen. I love a good stirfry with easy cleanup.

Candles that Smell like Cupcakes

Fun Socks
It’s rare that I wear socks that aren’t dri-fit, so when I do, I enjoy being cozy in them!
I’ve had these since High School!

His & Hers
Beer and Root Beer

Coming home to vacuumed floors…
…that the Roomba vacuumed for you! Winning!

What are you loving so far this week?

Pretending to be a Grown Up May 6, 2011

I got out of work early today and when I left I was full of energy and ready to take on the world. It was only 1pm. I could run, blog, watch TV, eat… anything really! But then reality set in. I didn’t have a free afternoon at all! Just a long list of errands to run. Oh well, at least it frees my weekend up right?

  1. Clean out Rosie so she (not me) can vacuum my whole house. SCORE!
  2. Donate a few bags of stuff to Goodwill (actually, it wasn’t Goodwill, but a store just like it)
  3. Bring our bottles, glass and paper to the recycling center
  4. Get gas at Costco
  5. Pick up a few things at Target
  6. Go to Lens Crafters and have them fix my sunglasses that literally just broke today
  7. Quick grocery shop trip at Fresh & Easy
  8. Make a Meal Plan for the week
  9. Change out our air filter (it’s AC season in Los Angeles. Ew).
The old one is on the left and the new one is on the right. Gross, huh?

Not bad for a Friday, right? I came home at 4pm and made a PB&J sandwich – with pickles, obviously!

I may have had an afternoon of being a grown up, but I can still enjoy kid meals like this!

Did you know VOSS has sparkling water? I scored this for free and wouldn’t pay such an insane amount for water, but man, this was GOOD water!

Now I can officially celebrate the WEEKEND!

Let’s Start Over… April 2, 2011

Filed under: Random — Kelocity @ 8:02 pm

–My Computer has been acting crazy lately

–The Mail Man didn’t deliver my mail today

–It’s now summer in LA and I need some new shorts

–I ate a cookie…for dinner.

–I’ve had a headache all day

–I really need to find a new dress for She Runs LA

Great. Now that we got all the negatives out of the way, let’s move on and focus on the positives, shall we?

I’m now enjoying a cup of Green Tea, putting on some nice music and mentally preparing myself for a week of positive, healthy vibes. It’s only Saturday which means there’s one more day to redeem the weekend and turn it into something fantastic.  I’m hoping to start tomorrow off with a long run.

Tomorrow is a new day!

My life just isn’t that exciting on weekdays. We’re pretty boring people during the week (and then get all crazy on the weekends I guess!)

We watched a lot of Jeopardy this week. HAHA It’s sort of become our nightly cooking routine.

One night, we cooked up one of our Dream Dinners. This one was a recipe created by Bon Greene, one of Oprah’s experts.

It was a healthy take on Sweet and Sour chicken.

The chicken was baked with oranges, pineapples, apricots, figs and oranges. It was deliciously sweet and we couldn’t believe there was no added sugar, it was all natural.

Paired with some orange slices on the side, it definitely hit the spot.

In other random news, I ate a Trader Joes burrito for lunch one day this week off of a Hanukah plate.
I thought this was HIL-ARIOUS. I was going to take a picture, but then the burrito kind of exploded in the microwave and ruined my plans.

Have you guys checked out yet? It’s a pretty neat interactive website. It’s so cool, you don’t even realize you’re learning stuff.

For example:!/Marathon

Oh, and just for some added cuteness, I got to snuggle with the infamous Hudson this morning.
He was totally worth the Parking Ticket I got while hanging out at his place today. TOTALLY worth it.

I’m up at 6 for a run in the morning. And because I’m announcing it on the blog, I HAVE to actually do it.
I’m off to watch Teen Mom 2! Night!
