Just because once wasn’t enough…. you had to see it in flipbook form 😉
So silly!

Yesterday, Irving and I both got out of work early, so we enjoyed a fun afternoon together. First on the list was haircuts! [fun fact: the weekend we got engaged, we both got our hair cut together!]
I was in desperate need of a cut! Perfect for Summer!
Then we spent the afternoon walking around a bookstore in Pasadena!!! (Doesn’t that sound romantic?) We swayed up and down the aisles looking at travel books, picture books, kids books, everything!
I particularly love to find books I liked as a kid!
Choose your own adventure!
Goosebumps! [fun fact #2: I wrote to R.L. Stine in 4th grade asking him to make a tv show out of the books and he wrote back!]
Baby Sitter’s Club!!
Then we got some coffees from the little shop inside!

A fun date with my love!
When I was applying for colleges, I only really considered one school: Emerson College in Boston. I had a few back up plans in mind, but Emerson was the only school I had ever wanted to go. Someone told me about it when I was in 7th grade and I had my eye on the prize for all six years after that.
I even wrote a letter to myself in 8th grade talking about how bad I wanted to go there.
I wrote in my letter that I wanted to be the next Spielberg!
I also wrote about my love for “cute actors” like Devon Sawa, but that’s another story….
Oh man, Teen Bop magazines were the best! Remember the pull out posters?!
I’m pretty sure I had this exact issue…
Annnnyways…. So yea, I pretty much dove head first into television when I was in middle school… even making the cover of the local TV station’s newsletter! My friend Linsay and I were the youngest members to ever work at the station. 🙂
Can we just talk for a second about a.) that ginormous VHS camera! and b.) DIY bangs…. ugh!
I even met my future BFF Ashley while working at the station!
Ashley, Luca and I met Tom Bergeron at the station years ago too!
So yea… long story short… I always loved the TV industry and I knew that Emerson was the only school where I could delve into it head first!
Emerson was the type of school where you could make a 10 minute video in lieu of a 10 page paper. It was pretty awesome. I even had my own radio show for a semester. What a great time.
Today, I came across this website: http://www.emerson.edu/student-life/housing-dining/new-residents/move-guide and it made me totally miss college like never before. Have you ever tried to move into a high rise building from the side of Boylston street with 300 other people at the same time? It was quite the scene and I really wish I had pictures from that day. I’m so totally jealous of all the students who are moving in this week and getting to know Emerson for the first time. A lot has changed on campus since I graduated, but the core of it is still there.
I wish I could go back and relive college all over again. I feel like I didn’t take advantage enough, experience it enough, take it in enough. It goes by so fast! I graduated in 3.5 years because I just couldn’t wait to move out to Los Angeles and live the Hollywood Dream! But looking back, perhaps I should have stayed just one more semester to enjoy Boston and College living.
I’m really homesick for my Emerson days… Kids… enjoy every SECOND of it!
Irving was out of town last week and at first, I was happy to have the house to myself (I only made the bed twice all week, shhh!) But by Friday, I couldn’t wait to see his smilin’ face. I mean come on, who wouldn’t miss this guy:
When I came home from work yesterday, he had just walked through the door. We immediately went out and ordered a pizza to take back. I think we were both too hungry for our own good and we ate the WHOLE pizza minus ONE slice. I think we both decided not to eat the last slice just to say we didn’t really eat a whole Xtra Large Pizza in one swoop. HAHA
But regardless, I’m happy to have him home. He even came armed with PRESENTS from Harris Ranch! Aside from the amazing burgers he brought home for dinner tonight, he brought me my FAVORITE parfait cup!
Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Pudding, Strawberries, Chocolate Sauce, Whipped Cream and Walnuts. Mmmm!
He even tied a bow around it so it looked even prettier (as if you need do anything to make chocolate and whipped cream look prettier, right?)
But that’s not ALL…check this out!
It’s a Candy Corn flavored Lolli-pop!!!! I LOVE CANDY CORN!!!! What a guy.
Missed you babe, welcome back!!!

In other news, I wanted to share the amazing birthday card that my sister Laurie sent me this week!
But first the back story… when we were little, every winter, my family would have a “Beach Party” in the living room. When it was super cold outside, we’d crank up the heat, get into our bathing suits, lay on our beach towels and eat a picnic on the floor with paper plates. It was pretty epic.
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
Inner tubes and flip flops required.
So fast forward to this week, I almost died when I saw this card in the mail from my sister:
BAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Thanks Laurie, that was pretty hilarious!
To top off the end of an absolutely perfect birthday weekend, Irving offered to make me a homemade mac n’ cheese to share with some of our friends! (Yay!)
Cheers!
We had SO much fun playing CLUE! Have you ever played with all 6 players? It’s really hard!!
Ashley won!!
But really…. we all won when the Mac N’ Cheese came out of the oven!!
Hello, cheesy melty goodness!
With a salad bar to uh… make the meal healthy?
Dessert was some cupcakes from this morning!!!
But don’t worry, I did not eat TWO cupcakes in one day (Irving did though!)
Instead, I licked all the frosting off this morning (you know, for breakfast!)
And then tonight…. I had a little bit of frosting and the cupcake left!
HAHA I know, I’m weird!

Happy Birthday to me!!
We toasted with some Apple Cider Iced Wine that JR and Ashley brought back from New York!
JR said he’s climbed from the trees that these apples were picked from!!!
YUM!
And one more bite of frosting. MMmm!
After that, we played a SUPER fun game of “Left, Right Center”!
JR won the pot!! Winner takes all!
(Just don’t spend your $5.25 winnings all in one place!)
And even though they weren’t supposed to, my amazing friends came armed with gifts!!!
I got a cute Demdaco statue and the girl was carrying the same kind of flowers that Irving bought me yesterday!
I have quite the collection of these guys now! I love them!
Red Wine and Chocolate…..Yes Please!
[edited to add: I also got a Michaels giftcard! This could be dangerous!] thanks!!!!]
I am LOVING all my pretty flowers! I’ve scattered them all over my place and I smile every time I see them!!
Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday, guys. You all mean so much to me! I am so thankful to have you as my friends!
And I seriously got over a hundred facebook emails from friends wishing me a ‘happy birthday’ too. Thanks everyone! Miss my East Coast friends, but I appreciate the texts, emails and phone calls!!
