Sunday was a nice relaxing day. It was so beautiful outside. It really did feel like spring. And for LA, sometimes that’s hard to find.

I woke up a little homesick for my family on the east coast, but they sent over a ton of pictures. My family is pretty big. Look how cute all the cousins are!!

And of course little Gizmo enjoyed Easter too!

I started my day out by planting some Crocus Bulbs. They are supposed to bloom in a month or so. I really hope they do! I don’t exactly have a green thumb (even for little pots like this). So we’ll see.

I was so lucky to have good friends close by to celebrate Easter with! Erica and Beth came over and we had a nice little lunch. It was so fun!

The bunnies looked on as we ate! The Mimosas totally made the meal, I think.

And if you can’t tell, Erica and Beth are sisters!

After lunch, we played a fun game of Yahtzee!! And (no joke) Erica rolled Yahtzee THREE TIMES in one game!!!!

Unfortunately, the fun was interrupted by a 7.2 Earthquake! It was so weird. My chandelier above us was swinging back and forth!

Thankfully there wasn’t much damage, but still pretty crazy to feel it rolling like that.

When Irving got home, we finished the night with some Jelly Beans and Chocolate Eggs.

Happy Easter!!

 Happy Valentine’s Day!

It was our first married Valentine’s Day! I can’t believe we’ve been married for 7 months already! Where did the year go?

We woke up and exchanged gifts. I got a few cute things including this awesome sunblock for your face by Origins!

I love a man who understands the importance of protecting your skin.

I got him tickets to see the “Black Eyed Peas” in March. We’re SUPER excited to shake it like a polaroid picture.

It has been so beautiful out lately (not to rub it in, all you east coasters!) that I got excited to decorate for Spring! My grandmother gave me these Lenox Rabbits when we got engaged and I get so excited to put them out every spring.

But my husband thought that they were missing something, so he bought me flowers!!

Doesn’t that look more like “spring“?

I LOVE, LOVE LOVE these types of flowers (Button Mums, Spider Mums, Daisies and Lilies!) because that is what was in my wedding bouquet!!! I got so excited, that I had to take a picture in front of my wedding canvas to compare!

Look at these two happy love-birds!

In honor of our first married Valentine’s Day, here’s a cute little picture of our cake topper that is now on our mantle! My sister brought them back from Australia!

Here’s a few of our past Valentine’s Days:
One year ago this weekend, we went to Vegas!
And seven years ago this weekend, we were in Paris!

Christmas in California! January 10, 2010

As sad as it was to leave Boston, my family and my sisters after Christmas…

….we knew we had to come back and get back to our life in California. But it was super fun to know that we had another Christmas waiting for us back here. We saved our gifts to each other until we got back. but it still felt like Christmas to us!

We put our jammies on (just like Christmas Morning) and got our stockings!

PS. I can’t believe our tree is still standing! That thing lasted a month!

We sat on the floor in front of the fireplace and the present opening began!

Stockings First! Irving got his usual sunscreen and deodorant. haha

My turn!

We also found a gift from Jake and Janie under the tree! (Hi Jake and Janie!) Thank you!!

When all the presents were opened, I asked Irving, “Did you get everything you wanted?” And he sadly said, “Yea, I guess. Except for one thing.” He really really really wanted the FIFA 2010 video game this year. This was his face when he thought he didn’t get it:

But then I surprised him with one more gift…..FIFA 2010! He was so excited and now he looked like this:

Yep. I’m pretty much the best wife ever.

Here’s some of my loot! I also got the new Lady Gaga CD…. which makes Irving the best husband ever.

So what was my favorite gift this year? MY FIRST IPOD EVER!!!!!

It’s teal! So cute huh?

It was a pretty awesome Christmas this year.

Our 2009 Christmas Tree! December 12, 2009

For the past couple of years, we’ve been going to Home Depot to get our tree. They usually have pretty nice ones for a good deal, so that’s what we did this year too! I think this is actually the first year that the tree had a nice shape. Usually they’re a little crooked or dead on one side, but this little fella was perfect!

We wanted to let it open up and settle a little bit before we decorated it, so we let it sit overnight. But I got impatient for Christmas Cheer, so I plugged the lights in anyways while we watched TV. haha

The next day, while we decorated the tree, I found a Yule Log “show” on demand. haha It’s basically a fake fireplace that crackles and christmas carols play in the background! I thought it was funny because we had our real fireplace going under the TV.

The Lights went up first. It’s pretty even without ornaments!

Perfect Christmas Tree Shape!

We collect ornaments from all of our big trips. Irving put up the newest ornament first! This one was from Stockholm! (Sadly we didn’t get one in Russia, but we got it on our Russia tour, so that counts, right?)

And I put up our new one from Iceland! Isn’t this so cute? It’s made of Icelandic wool!

Here’s a few other ornaments we like!

My mom made this one! It’s made out of a light bulb!!!

The sign says “Dear Santa, I really Did Try…” hahaha that was a joke from the year our whole tree fell over. haha

I present to you… the 2009 Family Christmas Tree! All it needs now is Presents!

Then we decorated some other parts of our condo…

We filled up a glass vase with extra christmas ornaments!

And we hung our stockings with care…

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

No really, it does! At least when I’m making it home-made and selling it as a fundraiser for Dana-Farber!!

My awesome mother-in-law and I cooked up a batch of homemade chocolates this weekend!

We melted down some good chocolate in this fondue pot!

The hardest part is being patient enough to wait for it to melt!

Filling up the molds!

Don’t they look so professional? Julie my mother-in-law has some beautiful molds!

These are my favorites! Look how cute these are!

Then we bagged them up and made them look all pretty!

What was Irving doing while the ladies were baking? Powerwashing the driveway. hahaha

The ladies. I love their matching pastel shirts!

If you live in the LA area… I’m selling the chocolate while supplies last for a minimum $3 donation! Just shoot me an email and let me know! You can also support my fundraising for Dana-Farber here!
