Picture from the Warner Brothers Studio Tour two weeks ago! Looks like baby wanted to ride the Hogwarts Express!
Happy Birthday, EJ!
Baby would like to wish Aunty EJ a very happy BIRTHDAY! ![]()

Baby Does Las Vegas April 25, 2012
This past weekend was the baby’s SECOND trip to Las Vegas in utero! (The first was back in December!) ![]()
We went to meet up with Irving’s Aunt, Uncle and Grandmother and do a bit of relaxing too! The temperatures peaked at 100*, so we stayed in as much as possible. My goals for the weekend were to avoid the sun & heat… and stay away from the casinos (didn’t want to be breathing in smoke at 8 months pregnant, ick). We didn’t have much on our agenda, and my only request was to take pictures in front of the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. I’ve been to Sin City probably 15 times or so and I’ve NEVER seen the sign!! ![]()
I was so excited to see it in person and take a few pictures. It was SO worth it! ![]()
Thanks to the nice Aussies who took this picture for us! ![]()
We stayed one night in the Polo Towers, which was very comfortable and nice. But the highlight for SURE was our second night in the new Elara Hotel (owned by Hilton). Oh. My. Gosh. I thought the Encore by Wynn was the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but this one takes the cake. ![]()
The décor was ‘Hollywood Chic’ and it was incredible. ![]()
The views weren’t that bad either! We could see MGM, New York New York and the Mirage from our room!
![]()
We were invited to share a 2-bedroom suite with Jake and Janie and the living area in between the two was HUGE! The pictures don’t do it justice.
![]()
When we woke up on Sunday morning, we found that they had decorated the room for a Vegas-Style baby shower! How Cute!!!
![]()
The theme went right along with our shower last week! Tiny Traveler! ![]()
It was so cute, we were really touched by it. So many people already love our baby so much. ![]()
See that huge window in the room? ![]()
The views of the strip were incredible from there… but more impressive for Irving was the huge automatic screen that comes down to cover it. Each room had a projector, which made for optimal soccer game viewing. ![]()
We had some nice meals out, played a few rounds of Bananagrams and enjoyed the time with family. It was such a nice weekend and were so thankful to be able to spend it with these special people. Thank you! ![]()
Next time we’re back in Vegas, we’ll have a baby in tow! Can’t wait! ![]()
My Kelocity Baby: 33 Weeks (Vegas Edition) April 24, 2012
Well I think I can say that Week 33 has been the busiest week of my pregnancy so far. Last weekend was Sarah and EJ’s Visit, my Shower, an eventful week with my mom… and a weekend in Las Vegas (full recap of that coming soon!) ![]()
How I’m feeling: Still feeling really great! Despite a crazy busy week, the insane SoCal heat and a roadtrip to Las Vegas and back, I still have a good amount of energy. The only change this week is that I’m waking up far more often to use the bathroom during the night, so my sleep is disrupted more. And my sciatic was annoying for a couple of days, but all in all, it’s still been smooth sailing.
Hee Hee my mom took this picture and I thought it was so cute. ha!
Pounds Gained: 15.7 Total (But I just ate at ‘Steak N’ Shake’ as I’m writing this, so maybe it’s more than that now. ha!) My rings are still loose and I haven’t had swollen ankles so I’m goad I am not retaining water (yet!)
![]()
Pregnancy Woes: Sciatic was acting up this week. And I’m just moving slow overall, but nothing too crazy. But I will say I’m getting anxious to meet the baby. I still have 7 weeks left (at least) but I just want it to come quick! ![]()
Pregnancy Loves: Baby wiggles. Not feeling as many kicks these days since baby is running out of room these days, but there have been some intense flips and rolls lately that are visible on the outside! My whole belly rocks back and forth, it’s so weird! ![]()
Items we got for the baby: After my shower last week, we got a ton of things! The nursery is looking more and more complete! My mom got us some diapers too! I heard we’ll need those! We also got our Stroller (The Jeep Liberty) and some other goodies from Jake and Janie (Irving’s aunt and uncle) when we were in Vegas!! Not much left to get now!
Highlights of the week:
- My mom’s visit (relaxing, washing, sorting and folding baby clothes, some Hollywood touristy things and enjoying her company!)
- My shower! So amazing to feel so loved by our friends. Such a special day and we had so much fun!
- Doctor’s Appointment (Baby is looking great!)
- Hospital Tour. This was a blast. We got to meet a couple of the nurses, fill out our admitting paperwork early, see three brand new babies in the nursery (!!), and get a tour of the maternity rooms. Very exciting.
- Daycare tour (we weren’t impressed, but still glad we at least went to see it).
- Roadtrip to Las Vegas! Got to hang out with Jake and Janie and Irving’s grandmother. It was a fantastic weekend and we were so sad to go home! (More on that coming!)

Hamburgers, Hollywood and Heat April 21, 2012
It was so nice to have my mom in town this week. We had a blast at my shower and it was so cool she was able to be there. The rest of the week was filled with a mix of relaxation, touristy things, and putting the baby’s room together.
Sunday night after the shower, we stayed in and cooked sliders on the grill. Delicious! ![]()
Monday, was ‘Marathon Monday’! Wish I could have been there to cheer on all the runners! I heard it was super hot! Can’t believe it’s now been TWO years since I ran it! ![]()
We decided to go enjoy downtown Los Angeles for the day. We went to the gorgeous Public Library and then to City Hall. You can go to the top of the building and see the amazing views of the city. I had never been! ![]()
Mom is afraid of heights, but I think she really liked it. ![]()
We saw the Disney Concert Hall, where we took some photos a few weeks back! ![]()
We were told to put our ‘visitor’ sticker in an ‘obvious place’. I chose my belly since you can’t miss it! ![]()
It was SO hot that all that walking downtown really did me in. I was completely pooped by the end. We spent the rest of the day home after that. ![]()
Tuesday, we had a VIP tour of Warner Brothers scheduled…. or so we thought. Apparently I had booked it for the wrong day. Oops, blame the baby brain! But thankfully they let us on anyways. I had been on the WB lot before, but I had never done the official tour. ![]()
This was the old exterior set of ER! It is supposed to look like the L-Train in Chicago. ![]()
This is the soundstage that ‘Friends’ was filmed in! ![]()
They still have the ‘Central Perk’ set assembled in another building. ![]()
I wear sunglasses inside because we were in Hollywood and I have to be cool. Bahaha. ![]()
I just realized how coordinated our shirts were! Totally on purpose.
We saw a bunch more sets and got to visit the prop house. If anyone needs a ‘Seal of the President’, take your pick! ![]()
I believe after the tour, we went home to take an afternoon nap, but before sunset, we headed out again to snap some photos of the Hollywood Sign. ![]()
Hi Daddy! Can you believe our baby will be born in Los Angeles? So surreal we live here! ![]()
I have some more pictures from this little photoshoot, but I’ll save them for my weekly update. =) Oh, the suspense!
After this, we made a simple ‘Make-Your-Own-Tacos’ meal and then headed over to see a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Show. PS. This was the first time my mom had ever had guacamole! What?! ![]()
The last day of my mom’s visit was all about baby. We had an OB appointment first. Baby is expected to be around 7lbs, 9oz! We’ll see if that’s accurate! Heartbeat is still strong and baby is still head down. YAY!
That night, we had our maternity tour at the hospital. It was awesome. I’ll fill you in on that in my weekly update post as well.
What a week! Had a blast! And now I need another nap. ha!
