One of the many life changes that comes with having a baby I guess.
Wow. 9 months!!! I remember at the beginning people would say “You know, women are actually pregnant for 10 months, not 9!” I used to think that was so silly to count it like that. But here I am…proud to be 9 months pregnant!!! That means I’m just about 26 days away from my due date!!!
How I’m feeling: Something definitely changed this week. I don’t feel quite like myself and everything just feels off. I’ve been feeling some Braxton Hicks, a little bit of cramping and extreme fatigue that seemed to come out of nowhere. It’s SO hard to move around now, even rolling over in bed takes so much energy. I’m really going out of my way to take it easy now. I’m surprising myself how forgiving I’m being letting myself relax when I know I need it. All things considering, I still feel great, I’m just noticing these changes as my body gets ready for the big day!

This weekend, we bought a new family-friendly car and traded in Irving’s Jeep. But before we got rid of the Jeep for good, I convinced Irving to take the top off and cruise down to the beach for one last joyride in it together. ![]()
With the wind in our hair and the music turned up high, we cruised over the mountains for an evening at the ocean. It might be one of the last nights like this where we can jump in the car and head out on a spontaneous trip just the two of us. ![]()
You already had a sneak peak at some of our photos from the beach in my weekly update, but I wanted to share a couple more because I just couldn’t choose! We picked up sandwiches along the way and spread out a blanket and watched the waves crash over the breakwater. ![]()
Then we set up a tripod and let the camera snap away to capture some of my favorite photos yet! ![]()
The sun was setting and the light was perfect! ![]()
We truly just enjoyed each other’s company and had so much fun playing around. ![]()
And when the sun was at the perfect place in the sky, I got giddy because I’ve been waiting 9 months to take pictures like these! ![]()
You really have no idea how big your bump is until you see it in silhouette. HAHA ![]()
We kept saying how lucky we feel to be so close to this beautiful ocean and we can’t wait to spend time with the baby here as well. I personally can not wait to dip those little piggies into the water and watch him/her play in the sand. ![]()
So thankful I am to have this guy in my life. ![]()
Shortly after this, Irving said it would look cool if I walked along the beach and he got a picture of the footprints in the sand. Sounded like a great idea so I took off into the sunset… ![]()
..and out of NOWHERE, a HUGE wave came and completely soaked me from the hips down. Definitely not intended, but it was pretty funny. ![]()
And for your viewing pleasure… it was captured on camera!
Regardless, it was a gorgeous night and so fun to just hang out and enjoy the time together. ![]()
Yesterday I spent the morning running errands (recycling, post office, Target, etc). On the way home, I stopped in Starbucks and decided I absolutely must have an Iced Tea. So I ordered one and waited for my name to be called. While I was waiting, I saw a picture of their new Frappucino… Mocha Cookie Crumble.
[source]
I looked at the sign… and looked away…. and then looked back again. I needed it. NOW. In the most primal sort of need possible. So I got back in line and tried to make eye contact with the barista. “Excuse me, did you already make my Iced Tea? No? OMG Thank god. I need to change my order.”
So then the poor cashier guy had to try to figure out how to refund my iced tea so he could charge me more (almost double!) for the Frappucino. I don’t think many people ‘return’ drinks at Starbucks and he tried for about 10 minutes to figure it out. I apologized, tried to stick out my bump as much as possible and pray they would take pity on the pathetic pregnant woman who NEEDED this Cookie Crumble Frappucino.
After two employees fought with the computer to figure out how to charge me the difference, they finally caved and just gave it to me for the same price as the tea (SCORE!!!!) I savored every drop of that drink. (DUDE, even the whipped cream is chocolate! No joke!)
That was the first ‘coffee’ I’d had in almost 9 months! (I’ve been sticking to tea). But I feel a new obsession coming on. This could be dangerous.
WHooo Hooo!! I actually got some sleep this week!!! I’ve had 4 solid nights of sleep in a row, and man, it makes all the difference. I feel like a million bucks again. And when I get sleep, I get less cranky, so you’re welcome. I just can not believe how fast these weeks are ticking by. I had a friend deliver her baby this week almost two weeks early! This totally freaked me out because IF I were to go early… that would mean I have just 3 weeks left! Crazy! It probably won’t happen early (my doctor said there are absolutely no signs of it), but it’s crazy to think that it could! ![]()
How I’m feeling: Feeling pretty good—all things considering! My stomach has seriously expanded this week and my bump is starting to seriously get in the way. haha. It was actually hard for me to do dishes this week since I couldn’t get close enough to the sink really. My mom asked me if I could still drive and I noticed I have about 3 inches leeway before that will start to be a problem too! The baby is really starting to run out of room, I feel bad! I bet he/she can’t wait to stretch out! ![]()
