My Kelocity Baby: 37 Weeks May 20, 2012
As I’m posting this, I only have 20 days til my due date!!! The excitement is definitely building and I’m on the lookout for any and all signs of labor (but so far, nothing yet!) This weekend, we really finished just about everything on our to-do list and it feels great. So now, we just wait! 
How I’m feeling: Still feeling pretty great. I do get tired at the end of the day, but I’m still keeping up and for that, I am grateful. I went to Yoga this week and did a couple of longer walks and they all felt great. But by the end of the day, I’m happy to put my feet up. Still feeling lots of squirms, tiny kicks and baby hiccups. And this week also marked my first ‘cone-shaped’ belly. Baby has been hanging out on my right side during the whole pregnancy and now you can SEE my whole stomach shift when he/she stretches out. 
Weeks along: 37 Weeks 
Pounds Gained: 17.9 Total 
Pregnancy Woes:
- Charlie Horses during the night
- More frequent bathroom breaks (both day and night!)
- Trouble sleeping at night since I can’t really roll left to right anymore. HAHA
Pregnancy Loves:
- I think the baby dropped a bit this week? (I can’t see it, but people told me they noticed!) My heartburn has been a little bit better and I feel more movement lower in my belly than before. This makes me excited because I know it means we’re getting closer to the big day!!
- Frozen Yogurt! I’ve been looking forward to this all week!! (Gooey brownies, cookie dough and gummy bears! YES!)
- Still on a fruit and cereal kick too.
Items we got for the baby:
- We got a new Glider for the bedroom!! Irving spent all afternoon on Mother’s Day putting it together for me! I love it!
Testing it out in the store! - My friend, Courtney, made this awesome quilt for the baby!! I am so in love. I love, love, LOVE it!

Highlights of the week:
- Finished Birth Plan and discussed with doctor! Everyone says to make a plan and be prepared to throw it out the window, but I feel better knowing I’m going in somewhat prepared, but I’m not going to freak out if it doesn’t end up working out as we envision it.
- Installed Car Seat!
- Went on a nice 3 mile walk this morning!
- Finished Nursery!! (I promise a tour by next week!)
- Picked out Baby’s coming home outfit! We have three options, in case the baby ends up being bigger or smaller, but this one is a frontrunner!
- Started packing the hospital bag! That is way more overwhelming than I thought. It’s hard not knowing the exact date we’ll need it! I don’t want to pack too much and then have to wait three weeks and need the things inside! But I also don’t want to be running around if it happens to be earlier! But it’s started… and we have a list. So hopefully we won’t forget anything!
We had fun playing on escalators this weekend in Hollywood!
Goal for this week:
- FINISH packing the hospital bag
- Keep working on pregnancy photobook
- Relax!

One of the many life changes that comes with having a baby I guess.
My Kelocity Baby: 36 Weeks (9 Months!) May 14, 2012
Wow. 9 months!!! I remember at the beginning people would say “You know, women are actually pregnant for 10 months, not 9!” I used to think that was so silly to count it like that. But here I am…proud to be 9 months pregnant!!! That means I’m just about 26 days away from my due date!!! 
How I’m feeling: Something definitely changed this week. I don’t feel quite like myself and everything just feels off. I’ve been feeling some Braxton Hicks, a little bit of cramping and extreme fatigue that seemed to come out of nowhere. It’s SO hard to move around now, even rolling over in bed takes so much energy. I’m really going out of my way to take it easy now. I’m surprising myself how forgiving I’m being letting myself relax when I know I need it. All things considering, I still feel great, I’m just noticing these changes as my body gets ready for the big day! 
Weeks along: 36 Weeks
Pounds Gained: 16.8 total 
Pregnancy Woes:
- Braxton Hicks and cramps have become a daily occurrence. They’re not too painful, but they do take my breath away sometimes. They say it’s the body’s way of preparing for what’s to come. They actually make me excited because it’s a reminder how close we are to meeting the baby!!
- Living far away from family has been tough lately. It’s hard being 3,000 miles away from your entire family. I’m really looking forward to spending some time back east during my maternity leave. So thankful for Skype though!!
Pregnancy Loves:
- Strawberries. Cereal. Smoothies. Repeat. <—- I went through 3 cartons of strawberries and two boxes of cereal myself this week!
- Baby has been giving me so many kicks, rolls and squirms lately! They slowed down a little bit recently, but the past couple of days they picked up again! I’m just hoping he/she is still head down as we get closer!
Items we got for the baby:
- We were so spoiled by friends this week with another beautiful baby shower. We are so lucky. Thank you!
Highlights of the week:
- Baby Shower #2!
- Officially being 9 Months Pregnant! Seems like a big milestone!
- I went on one 2.5 mile walk this week. Doesn’t sound like much, but it’s been a while since I did that!
- Yoga! This week’s class had a lot of meditation and stretching which was exactly what I needed.
Goal for this week:
- Finish Birth

Spontaneous Trip to the Beach May 7, 2012
This weekend, we bought a new family-friendly car and traded in Irving’s Jeep. But before we got rid of the Jeep for good, I convinced Irving to take the top off and cruise down to the beach for one last joyride in it together. 
With the wind in our hair and the music turned up high, we cruised over the mountains for an evening at the ocean. It might be one of the last nights like this where we can jump in the car and head out on a spontaneous trip just the two of us. 
You already had a sneak peak at some of our photos from the beach in my weekly update, but I wanted to share a couple more because I just couldn’t choose! We picked up sandwiches along the way and spread out a blanket and watched the waves crash over the breakwater. 
Then we set up a tripod and let the camera snap away to capture some of my favorite photos yet! 
The sun was setting and the light was perfect! 
We truly just enjoyed each other’s company and had so much fun playing around. 
And when the sun was at the perfect place in the sky, I got giddy because I’ve been waiting 9 months to take pictures like these! 
You really have no idea how big your bump is until you see it in silhouette. HAHA 
We kept saying how lucky we feel to be so close to this beautiful ocean and we can’t wait to spend time with the baby here as well. I personally can not wait to dip those little piggies into the water and watch him/her play in the sand. 
So thankful I am to have this guy in my life. 
Shortly after this, Irving said it would look cool if I walked along the beach and he got a picture of the footprints in the sand. Sounded like a great idea so I took off into the sunset… 
..and out of NOWHERE, a HUGE wave came and completely soaked me from the hips down. Definitely not intended, but it was pretty funny. 
And for your viewing pleasure… it was captured on camera!
Regardless, it was a gorgeous night and so fun to just hang out and enjoy the time together.
